Billboard Ideas:
I think the arrangement of the three clothing items works well as a system and still creates slight variability within the campaign. The issue with the denim billboard may be the legibility of the type, however this was an attempt to connect the design to the poster for the zine.

Final Poster Series.
The iterations of these poster designs I think work better in comparison to previous designs, specifically in terms of contrast.

Final Poster for Zine:
This poster was inspired by previous iteration towards having the type within the denim in some capacity. Previously I had used overlays to make the type appear as apart of the fabric, however, this was risky for legibility. I think it could have been hard for audience to read at a distance.
I think this design with the cut out effect works better as the wording is much easier to read and develops high contrast against the dark denim background.
‘Cost to our planet is far greater than the price tag’ - the copy write for the poster was a draft a developed with the. intention to clearly communicate the association between the fast fashion industry and the environment. I would hope people start to think about the further cost of support fast fashion brands.

Quick Poster Layout Ideas:
The first two spread were design with the intention to test different layouts of the clothing items. However after quickly putting these together I felt I needed to develop a design that was simpler but evoked thought towards the issue.
The series of clothing items is a system I think works better for the clothing assets. This could led to each representing an issue in the industry or other key information. Additionally I think a series is an effective way to communicate an idea to an audience, getting the message across.
The middle concept is an idea I would like to enhance, having the type in the denim. This could be cut out or further developed through blending modes.

Testing Zine Layout
Back Cover: will remain simple but will have campaign logo and social media handles on the centre bottom.
Immediately the white texture does not match the design system, I think I might take this out completely and see if I can use other assets I have developed in more creative ways.
Placement of the body text for solution spread needs adjustment to align left, for the appearance of the zine to be be cohesive.
May further test the front cover, not sure about the layered textures. Will seek feedback

Zine Cover Iterations.
While the clothing attempts help people draw connection towards the fashion industry, I think at first glance the layouts appear cluttered. As a result I tested the title in the denim texture in attempt to develop contrast. I think this turned out well, as hints at the idea of the zine (with the fabric).

Final Solution Spread:
While this spread appear much simpler to previous designs I think it works better for the information it will be conveying to readers. I have added the viscose texture into the ‘MEND’, which even though looks subtle, it works better with the design system.

Spread Development:
After placing this design with the other spreads I have developed I think the white stitching looks out of place. I may attempt to swap this with a texture I already have, perhaps the viscose. However, I think the central placement of the text works well and communicates the intention of the solution spread.
The body text to the right I think needs to be aligned left as this is the only page in the spread that is to the right. After discussions and feedback I have learnt to look carefully at the fine details of the design to make sure it appears as a system.

Iteration of Solution Spread
‘Make Do and Mend’ pays tribute to earlier days when society made do with the clothing they had, mended any imperfections to make their pieces last longer. However, over the years new technology has been developed to support the growth of the fashion industry, thus developing the current issue with the industry.
The first few iterations were developed with the colour palette and paint typography. Additionally, I tested the idea with imagery from my asset library, using the denim texture to make the cover cohesive with other designs. Furthermore, I experimented with a new fabric texture developed digitally. Upon reflection not sure this works with the rest of the design system so I may replace the white texture with photography asset that I already have.

Starting Point for Solution Spread:
For the solution spread I thought it might be interesting to explore the idea of developing a graph with the text. However, a factor that didn’t take into consideration was how the readers will perceive this image. The jacket with the word ‘make; is not as clear as the rest of type which makes it harder to communicate the idea of the spread. I will further test this idea to hopefully a layout that is more legible for the audience

Testing Introduction Spread
While I thought the texture of the initial design was an effective way to introduce the asset into the design system, the imagery didn’t quite work with the rest of the zine. Therefore I tested the viscose fabric behind the text which I think works quite well.
