I love the creativity you used to build your character. The colors are so vivid!
FINAL ASSIGNMENT:
For my final project, I created a piece that included three art movements: abstract expressionism, surrealism, and formal elements.
I created my background using two art movements: formal elements and abstract expressionism. To begin, I created a warm-colored ombre background. Then, I used various shades of cool colors to create abstract lines on top. The contrast between the warm and cool colors ended up being very appealing to look at.
The last art movement I incorporated into my work was surrealism. For this part of my project, I collaged a character using magazine cutouts. My character's name is Cookie Man, and he likes to watch sunsets, swim, and collect sneakers.
For my final, I combined abstract impressionism, "your art voice", and renaissance.
Abstract Expressionism- I chose to use this for my background because I liked the creative freedom it allows. I also liked the ability to use many different colors to express yourself.
"Your Art Voice"- I wanted to use this weeks work because I liked how it was able to share a message to the person viewing the art. the small phrases are able to tell the viewer a lot about their art.
Renaissance- Finally I used renaissance for my character. Throughout the semester, building a character was one of my favorite things to do. I specifically liked this weeks art because it allowed us to draw more which is one of my favorite forms of art.
My puppet is made out of a water bottle that I found. I then cut sides in it and put q-tips for the arms. The head of my puppet is a cotton ball. For clothing, I gave my puppet a mental health ribbon. My puppets name is Reece. She is big into nature and enjoys waterfalls. Her favorite season is spring and she supports mental health awareness.
Nice work zoey! I love your mixture of colors in the background!
“Christofern Parsley” is a groovy gardener who loves 70s music. His favorite food is a Chipotle bowl. On top of gardening, he also loves to go for hikes, specifically to see the sunset.
For my project I chose the phrase, "living the dream". I chose this because I think I had the perfect mix of technology and nature as a kid. I didn't get my first ipod until I was 12 so I spent much of my childhood playing outside. I chose Adventure of a lifetime by coldplay as my song because the geometric shapes reminded me of this weeks background.
The technique I used is watercolor pencils. This is involving colored pencils and painting with water overtop. This did not turn out the way I thought I would but I would like to experiment it further!
A song that reminds me of my childhood is Drift Away by Uncle Kracker. This is a song I can vividly remember listening to with my family frequently. It is a song I loved then and still do.
