i messed up the "overexposed flash" effect i was going for but! i like it! maybe next time haha

last few months kicked my butt, but i'm still making progress on the webcomic!

it is still updating every 3 days on comicfury and is scheduled to do so until may with chapter 50 and i'm currently drawing chapter 58! if everything goes according to how i scheduled it, by may i will be able to have enough buffer for the comic to run until 2026!

I stack on buffer so i can spend a few month working on a long one shot comic i hope to complete this year. it's a little hard to organize and schedule everything, especially with life and unexpected stuff coming up but i have good hopes for this!

i will also finally have more time to make more side art for the comic, that are (hopefully) not spoiler so i can share more... i keep neglecting this blog (sorry!) but i will try to be a bit more??? active? haha

i just finished and scheduled part 5 of goth boyfriends! ; _ ; i did the last 8 chapters on a very short timeframe in the last few months… i started part 5 early 2023 haha, but then i kept getting sick and all that, but now i feel like maybe for a while i can work steadily so i will try my best!

Those are the last 9 chapters of part 5 in this pic! whoah! (i put the anniversary illustration on top to avoid spoiling, but all the rest are comics pages and cover! for those who discover it, each chapter is 7 pages!

i tried to put it with part 4, but it was a tad too much for the sleeve! : ( a little surprised as part 1 to 3 are in one, but i used printer paper (80 g/m² at best) which was much more slim! i upgraded to 200 g/m² but 'downgraded' to 160(ish) g/m² halfway because it was more than enough. thinking of trying 120 g/m² so i can carry more paper around. i have to test if it fits all mediums i want to use!

so new sleeve for part V it is! i don't think i can cram many parts in one sleeve anymore now that i use bulkier paper! I spend a lot of time (re) organizing the pages i have around this project! it really feel like such a workout now! ; _ ;

starting to take space on the bookshelf! i'm both proud and a little scared about the space as it's very small here. i had to move a lot of things around to possibly get a new bookshelf in the next few months if i can afford it!

So, until my may 2025 (it feels surreal to write this!) there will be a new page every 3 days if i scheduled correctly! (might be a day more or less in-between chapters because i suck at maths! ; _ ;)

me? i will be starting part 6 soon! hoping to find a good pace, and stay diligent to not be surprised by sickness or other life troubles too unexpectedly.

15th of August 2021... I finally get brave and upload goth boyfriend on comicfury...!

3 years ago! Already?! whoah!!

Sorry for the drawing looking a little wonky, I wanted to make it like some kind of a montage, with each group being independent of one another, like, not even on the same perspective/scale, but fell half asleep as i drew and mixed every idea and put them on a plane that kinda match foreground/background etc... and so it just looks weird as a full drawing, but i still like it and i'm still mega sleepy so that's what we'll get this time lol!

Thank you to everyone who's reading my webcomic so far and everyone who gave it a try or will give it a try! again the chapters are very small (7 pages including the cover) so don't feel scared to catch up even if you see it's chapter 38 or smth i forgot where we're at! ; _ ;

I revamped the website a bit with a cast page and some kind of wiki, feel free to ask questions if you need more clarifications or anything! you can also post/ask as a guest on comicfury, you don't need an account, even though i recommand it, if you make comics or not! it's a fun place and there is a lot of comics to read! : )

I never think about posting updates... 😔 But the comic is still updating, one page every 3 days, scheduled until the end of september!

we're on chapter 35! dont be discouraged to catch up! each chapter is 7 pages (including cover, so 6 pages really)

i have also been working on chapter summaries! a line or two about what's going on...!

i have also finally learned about how to make additional pages so, also, soon, a cast page (on comicfury)

i am glad i could work on this comic for so long, thank you for being patient with me, i will keep going! 💪

Hello! Happy Webcomic day! I'm okenki and i've been posting webcomics since the early 2010s! I make a lot of short comics, but my big ongoing project is goth boyrfriends! "(wanabe) goth in your area!?"

I started posting it mid 2021, but started the first page in september 2020! I'm currently on chapter 43! My chapters are 6 pages long + cover, making it easy for me to focus and wrap up things without being carried away! : O

I love webcomics, especially for their accessibility! Anyone can make them, anyone can read them!

Some things about making goth boyfriends!

Here are all the pages (used or not) and art directly linked to the webcomic project (not just OCs art or AUs, really just about this) I made since! Some more are scattered across sketchbooks but most of them are consigned there!

And here's the "essentials" sleeve that i bring with me everywhere, it contains everything with current art and pages, and two copy books about comics ideas and related writings! and some blank pages for me to be able to keep creating everywhere/on the go!

I circled with a LOT of mediums/tools to make goth boyfriends! (img from the french print version)

Currently I'm using those two! The platinum and the pentel ink brush!
