my mom proposed the idea of a vorkosigan fic where the Koudelka clan is in the style of Little Women, all their personalities stuck together in the same house going through life in the capital dealing with the desperate gender ratio and gossip and marriage proposals and Ivan and getting shown off at parties like look this one came from a replicator and you can hardly tell the difference from her sisters! I personally wasn’t sure how the forced isolation of winter would work given high tech society and a city, but I reckon you could probably get in one really big snow storm that knocks out the comconsoles for a day or two for some of that flavor.

So… I got a notification from the State Department at like 8 PM Pacific that my passport was approved, and I was quietly thankful and stunned bc my legal gender in Oregon is listed as X, or undeclared, and that's what's on my passport. I'm pretty sure someone(s) worked late to get the X passports done today.
I was already really grateful to whoever in the Seattle Passport Office worked late to get these things processed on the last Friday before That Man gets back into office... and then I got a notification that my passport shipped at fucking midnight Pacific and whoever got that shit out the door so it couldn't be picked up on Monday and like, denied and shredded?
They're my fucking hero.

Idk exactly how to explain this but the softness of real wool and real linen is very different from the artificial softness of polyester “sherpa”, fuzzy faux-fur, spongey acrylic knits and people have gotten too used to the soft plastics and now associate wool with “itchy” and linen with rough and cotton with “too heavy” and then go and wear 100% polyester fleecy sweatshirts and say it’s so warm and cozy but actually they’re just staticky cooking in their sweat locked inside a plastic membrane and you are paying too much to be wearing filaments of petroleum products and the money isn’t going to the people sewing them either. I’m saying you all need to touch grass and the grass in this situation is good quality textiles made of natural fibres.

First off, spin this wheel.
You just landed on one of 200 fandoms that have been very popular somewhere on Tumblr over the years. Topics were chosen either from appearing on a @fandom end-of-year recap or from my own long (long, long) site memories before that.
also all of these fandoms are definitely things that really exist in the real world and none of them are Tumblr creations

You've been cast into a fictional setting, and you don't get to pick your genre. This wheel picks it for you.
#psychological thriller#mysterious holder of knowledge bc I do not want to be involved in any of that but I will observe

beavers have the lifestyle that most children dream of. dig and travel through underwater canals. dam a river and flood the local woodlands. stomp mud into dam to seal. swim to flooded trees and destroy them. live in a secret hideout with a underwater entrance. full ownership over an engineering project
#the hatred that some of the highway superintendents that I have calls with have for beavers is so funny like#they're just little guys
