Since acotar is a "beauty and the beast" retelling does that mean Rhys was originally representing Gaston?? Like is that what I'm getting at? We didn't know Rhys was going to be the main love interest at first was he gaston
Where did you go? Surely you went away somewhere, because you’ve come back so different I’m starting to think it’s not you. / ko fi if youd like to support my art :)
[Image Description: A six page comic titled “Here and There” centring around Wilbur and Tommy from the DSMP.
Page One: 2 panels. Both panels are half of the same whole - an image of Wilbur smoking. On the left half, Wilbur is saturated normally with no effects, but on the right, Wilbur’s colours are warped to fit the colours of his Limbo. His cigarette and white hair streak are captured on the right side.
Page Two: 3 Panels of Tommy and Wilbur talking to each other. Wilbur is antagonizing Tommy, and Tommy is clearly rolling his eyes but powering through the conversation anyways. Wilbur tosses his cigarette when Tommy starts talking to him.
Tommy: You got the, uh, head static?
Wilbur: Why do you speak? No one wants to hear you speak
Tommy: I’m going to ignore the fact you’re being a bitch right now.
Wilbur: Ugh, fine. What do you mean “head static”?
Page Three: 2 panels. In the first panel, Tommy is wearing Wilbur’s jacket and and walking with Tubbo, who is wearing netherite armour. Tommy’s attention is behind him instead of on Tubbo, as a younger version of himself holds his head in his hand and reaches out to grasp at the current Tommy with the other. Wave like patterns are seemingly washing the younger Tommy away. In the second panel, it is a close up on younger Tommy’s face, covered in blood. Text reads “Ever since I died, sometimes when I’m staring off into the distance, the world melts around me and I still feel dead.”
Page Four: 3 panels. The first panel is a distorted version of Tommy with blood on his face. Friend, the sheep, is clinging onto his shoulder, while Dream’s hand pulls him in the other direction. The second panel is of Tommy’s feet in water, assumed to be while he was in exile. The last panel is of Wilbur sitting on a bench, smoking, in limbo. Text reads “and it’s all white and staticy like my head’s full of sheep wool but I’m also underwater and nowhere at all.”
Page Five: 2 panels showing Tommy and Wilbur talking. Wilbur attempts to pat Tommy on the head and Tommy pulls Wilbur’s hand off his head, accusatory.
Wilbur: Tommy, I think you just learned how to speak so you say words in any order. I have no idea what you mean.
Tommy: Ugh! But you do, Wilbur, don’t you? You went somewhere else, didn’t you?
Page six: 2 panels. The first panel is a shot from behind of Wilbur with his arm around Tommy’s shoulders with the other outstretched, gesturing. Wilbur’s white streak is visible but Tommy’s isn’t. The second panel is of Wilbur from the first panel, from Tommy’s point of view, smoking with his white streak very clearly showing.
Wilbur: Shut up. Tommy, I’m fine. I can feel the sun on my skin; I’m not underground and dead and neither are you.
I just posted my first stand alone fanfic to ao3 and wanted to promote it so here I am
The Door That Stayed Silent
"Red. Why was there so much red? It was as if blood had been doused on him, sinking into his pores and mouth and shoved down his throat. He was choking on it. He was choking."
Wil and Tech are serial killers and Tommy finds out, inspired by that TikTok audio "Meant to be Yours" from Heather
Wilbur and Techno aren't trying to kill Tommy tho but it is a lil graphic. Heed the warnings and tags I put but also in my opinion it's not that bad BUT that is mY opinion
I guess this might be for beginner writers like myself but if you're struggling trying to make your writing more interesting and developed, show don't tell.
Yeah, every writing tip is exactly the same at this point but as a beginner, it's hard to get out of that loop of just repeating the same thing over and over and wondering if or why your writing is boring. Like you'll be going through your work and you're like "why does it feel so lacking?" One of the best things I've seen when it comes to feeling like your writing is missing something, it's sometimes bc you're telling your audience what's happening instead of showing.
It becomes a lot better when you go through your writing and only look for the points where you're telling and change it. Your writing becomes so much better after this.
And don't be scared to make your audience fill in the blanks themselves! That's how you get better plotwists and foreshadowing too; force your audience to interpret this action in one way and then do something else.
For example,
"She remembered the car accident and came to a crashing stop, exashted and out of breath."
You could alternatively say,
"Images of bright lights, screeching sirens, and blood seeped into her vision and she stopped, gulping for air as if she had been drowning."
Instead of telling your audience your character remembered a tramutic scene, show them the scene your character remembered and how it effected them.
I'm not a professional but I just had this thought, goodbye
"Why are people father & son dynamic truthing instead of brothers dynamic truthing with Tommyinnit? Why is nobody saying Tommy's like their younger brother anymo-"
Because Wilbur will kill them. He took that title. There is exception for Technoblade and only Technoblade under SBI rules, but nobody else. That's Wilbur's spot. Nobody else can have it.
So what if the reason why ranboo has such bad memory loss is bc he was a Time traveler? I'm sure plenty of ppl have already theorized about this but I'm going for it too.
Other then the obvious black and white from DreamXD world and memory loss stuff, there are a few other things present.
I'm not going chronological so bare w me
First, memory book.
In Karl's library at the end of the stream, he went into his library to write the story and in his diary. The diary that is used to record his memories before he can lose all of them. He wrote down the ppl he cares about and the ppl he loves in that book, or at least, the ppl he can remember.
Who else has a book to write down the things down to remember and who he can trust in that book? That's correct, a certain enderman.
Second, a certain ranboy being consistent throughout the series
This one's kinda far fetch but I just want to put it out there. The characters relating to ranboo throughout tales have had significant roles. The main ones being from the lost city and the pit. Ik there are more where ranboo was important but those stand out bc of the characters and how they acted and how they seemed to have a significant impact on the stories etc.
Like I said it's a bit far fetch but it's something to think about.
Third, having to choose between sides
Now now now, who has had to choose sides and has hated it? Who has had to choose between two evils? Who has wanted to be neutral as to not start conflict?
Ranboo sees no upside to having to choose between sides. Being forced between two ideas in hopes that something good will come from conflict. But if theres one thing we know about the dsmp is that there is no black and white, everything is gray and nothing else. Everything is bad.
The inbetween and the other side we now see are two sides of the same coin Karl is having to choose from. He is at conflict trying to choose between what will be best for the overall greater good. He's being forced to choose by dreamXD between another two evils. The inbetween that we know and have had bad exp w and the other side that was the saviour and provided a opportunity to learn from upon first entering. But we know now that the overseer in the inbetween is claiming that what happened wasn't supposed to happen. So we're presented w a hard decision between two equal sides of black and white when it is so clearly not that simple.
Something very similar to how ranboo thinks. The world is not that simple, you can't pick sides and expect everyone to be happy and at peace. It was never that way and will never be that way.
He thinks that by being neutral, conflict will stop but by doing so, he had brought on his own downfall as well.
Final thoughts and miscellaneous
I can't take credit for this one so I'll out the tiktok here
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLjkKUFv/
But basically the idea they suggest is that ranboo said that he said a line that gave away a massive hint about his character and its origins. The clip they show is from a day before doomsday were ranboo is in his panic room and starts saying things like
"this was supposed to be my opportunity for redemption...from last time... But it's happening again"
"the same things are happening again"
What happened in the past? What's happening again? Choosing sides and choosing the wrong one? Choosing the wrong one and resulting in losing memories? Losing friends and loved ones? Does he regret the path he chose in the past and has now tried undoing by not choosing sides but has just resulted in the same unhappy ending?
IDEAS
There's also the connection between him and dream now explained bc dreamxd gave Karl his powers and by association his memory loss
And like created him??
Ofc XD would have connections to his previous travellers
We know karl is directly connected to dreamxd now
Maybe it's not Dream who is manipulating ranboo but XD bc he used to be a time traveller
But we all know that XD and dream are connected bc DUH
"last time traveller forgot they were a Time traveler" a likely and very convinent story
This could all be a red harring tho who knows
ALSO ALSO
XD said "the last time traveller forgot they were a Time traveler so I...got rid of him"
I’m bored so here’s some more revivebur and Tommy prompts/headcanons:
•Both have supernatural scars from what they died from. Wilbur has a long blue scar on his chest that glows red sometimes. Tommy’s whole face/head and neck are covered in light blue scars. His arms and legs are covered too.
•Wilbur can’t stand the silence after 13 years of solitude so whenever he gets too tired and can’t ramble anymore he goes to Tommy to fill the silence.
•Tommy originally tried to give Wilbur his old coat back but Wilbur refused.
•Wilbur likes to keep in psychical contact with Tommy whenever they’re together. It’s grounding to both of them. Proves that they’re alive.
•Once Wilbur got all of ghostburs memories back he hunted Tommy down and tightly hugged him while silently crying. Later he swore to the blonde that it will never happen again.
•Both are shit at eating, being dead for 13 years and being exiled respectively, so they try to eat their meals together whenever possible.
•When Wilbur found out how exactly Tommy died he went up to Sam and smiled at him before decking him across the face and kicking him in the dick. The only reason he didn’t kill Sam was because Tommy would blame himself.
•Tommy forces Wilbur to go to therapy. Wilbur allows himself to be dragged to therapy after the blonde wouldn’t give up.
•Wilbur is “banned” from the prison. Nobody has officially said it but they don’t let him anyway near it.
•Tommy was too relieved the Wilbur stopped calling Dream his hero that he didn’t notice Wilbur was plotting Dream’s death.
•Wilbur has a murder board in a secret room located somewhere in Tommy’s house. It’s where he plots all his ideas against the people who had hurt Tommy while he was dead. Which is a lot of people.
•The eggpire takes one look at Tommy with Wilbur standing ominously behind him with his arms crossed, red flashing in his eyes and teeth bared before retreating.
•Their limbos affect the two of them in life.
•Whenever Wilbur gets too angry people can faintly hear the click of train tracks getting louder and louder. When that happens Tommy is either there to help or he is dragged over since he can calm him down. Tommy tugs Wilbur away from everybody before gently hugging him and either talking or humming.
• When Tommy is too scared or feeling terrified people around him feel frozen over and like their breath is being taken away since there’s not enough space. Wilbur had taken to wrapping him in a tight hug or picking him up and bringing him home when this happens.
•After therapy sessions the two like to bake something together in Tommy’s small kitchen. Wilbur will occasionally hum something and Tommy would try to hum along.
The c!Crimeboys Sun and Moon Imagery is so interesting to me, in part due to the fact that it's meaning changes depending upon whether you apply it to c!Wilbur or c!Tommy. Their perceptions of each other and themselves are both based in truth as well as personal biases, and the way it affects their dynamic is so compelling.
To c!Tommy, c!Wilbur is his sun. He is the light he remembered to face his darkest hours in exile, the sun on the horizon after his final confrontation in that bunker. He is the north star that guides his every thought and action when traversing unknown waters, he gives him direction and purpose whenever he doubts himself. He and his memory are sources of warmth and comfort in times of need, something he places his faith in when all else fails. He is too bright in his existence and too hot in his proximity, yet c!Tommy cannot live without him in the end, nor would he wish to. c!Tommy is the moon whose face reflects the blinding glare of the sun, he casts a light which echoes c!Wilbur’s ideals and his legacy to the best of his ability and with the best intentions.
To c!Wilbur, c!Tommy is his sun. He is the good in the world and the muse who inspired L’manburg’s spirit, and the light which cast any shadows which lingered in that ravine away, at least for a time. He is an unwavering certainty easily understood through his loyalty and his risen return every day without fail, no matter the circumstances. He is the golden days of glory and fond memories now washed out from exposure, though no less lovely and nostalgic, which provide fleeting warmth when the present is too cold to bear. He is a light to bask in and cherish, though c!Wilbur turns away and cannot meet his eyes for the pain it gives him. c!Wilbur is the moon which now, in his mind, eclipses the sun, muting its radiance and stifling its fire.
They are neither right nor wrong in their interpretations, in the end it’s all perception and symbolism. c!Wilbur and c!Tommy are mutually caught in each other’s orbit, for better or for worse. Though their equilibrium has been knocked off kilter due to change and uncertainty, that balance can be restored if they can finally settle into themselves individually and mend their relationship.
society if people considerd c!wilbur's feelings in the c!crimeboys dynamic and see how he's desperate for tommy to stay because he cares about him and he's the only person he has but also c!wilbur is paranoid about how c!tommy is afraid of him and is hurt by how he calls him insane and treats him like a bit of a villain sometimes
