Okay I've been told no one's made a post about this, so I'm doing a write-up: The Murphy's Law Saga

OR how John "podcast" Watson will probably record a podfic of a popular S&Co fanfiction.

A few weeks ago, in the Sherlock and Co. patron discord, a fantastic fanfic called Murphy's Law, written by the lovely @ra-mt got a lot of attention. It's a T rated hurt comfort story about John getting injured on a case, and Sherlock supporting him after the injury.

Originally the fic was on anon, and the server spent a good day and a half deducing the author, because we knew it was someone in the server. Eventually the author was unmasked, and the events were written down in a google doc in case notes format.

Following this, someone sent the documentation of the mystery, along with a link to the fanfic, to John at his email. John loved it and said it was wonderful:

Thus the fanfic entered discord fandom lore.

John makes occasional appearances in the discord and on one of these occasions he was asked to read the fic aloud, and this was his reply.

Of course the discord loses its collective marbles and starts a petition to have John read Murphy's Law. At around 100 signatures someone asked John how many signatures they'd need for him to read the fic and he replied:

This morning someone asked John when he was likely to read Murphy's Law and he replied with this

All this to say you should sign the Murphy's Law petition.

It's likely to happen anyway, but I thought it would be nice to make a post to get as many signatures as we can, and also to record this moment in fandom history, in whatever way it plays out. Once there's an update I'll edit this post to include the additions.
