How to fix range hood duct
My kitchen range hood/smoke duct is leaking smoke and my bedroom above it smells like hell when cooking. How could I DIY inspect and fix the issue? The duct is hidden behind drywall, do I need to remove all drywall and redo it after?

New stove—how to store baking sheets now?
Hi kitchen folk, the old stove is kaput. New stove will be installed this week.
The old stove was extra wide, had a special vertical cabinet with a magnetic door—it held all my baking sheets stored vertically. The new stove is narrower, there will be a 9 inch gap between the stove and the countertop.
I’ve been searching online for a narrow, vertical cubby to put into that 9 inch gap to hold my baking sheets but haven’t found anything yet. Maybe my search terms aren’t correct.
Have any of you solved this situation before? Would love to hear about your solutions or any advice on how to search for the right thing. TIA!

Best clutter hiders?
My kitchen is so crowded! It’s the dumping ground for everything that doesn’t make it to its actual home goes…jackets, mail, and, frankly, junk.
Anyone have a way to stop the clutter? Or at least hide it?

9 Ways to Make Your Kitchen More Functional and Beautiful
Kitchens are often thought of as utilitarian spaces, but with a little bit of effort and design, they can be turned into functional and beautiful spaces that are perfect for cooking and eating. Here are nine ways to make your kitchen more functional and beautiful:
Choose a versatile kitchen cabinet style that can be adapted to any style or décor.
Add a backsplash or countertop to your kitchen wall. This can add color and interest to the space, and it can also serve as a place to store your pots and pans.
Choose cabinets that are versatile and easy to clean.
Update the appliances. You don't need an entire kitchen overhaul to make it more functional, but upgrading your appliances can make a big difference.
A functional and beautiful kitchen can be achieved by using innovative ideas to improve the layout and functionality of the space.
Some easy ways to make your kitchen more functional include creating a well-organized and accessible pantry, adding storage cabinets, and installing a modern stove or range.
Additional ways to make your kitchen more beautiful include using high-quality appliances and furniture, adding attractive tile or wood flooring, and installing fresh flowers or plants. 8. Install cabinet handles made of wood or metal instead of plastic. They will look nicer and feel better in your hands. 9. Add cabinetry with plenty of storage space to store all your cookware and baking supplies

Dishwasher: standard or industrial?
I need to change dishwasher and I'm considering industrial equipment. But I'm very ignorant on the topic.. What I like is the speed: 2' for a cycle vs 60' for a standard machine What I am not sure about: they eat a lot of energy (e.g. 3200W).
Question: I usually wash dishes twice a day.. if I need to keep the washing machine on (or on pre-heat) for hours, will it consume more electricity than a standard machine, on a yearly basis?
Thanks

what to put in corner/wall
I have a decent sized corner of my kitchen that is just wasting space. What could I put there? I know I could do dome cabinets and counterspace, but I'm not sure if I want that 100%
Any good ideas?

Get the best coffee maker for rich, delicious coffee
The best coffee maker for rich, delicious coffee is one that uses premium beans, has a filter basket that catches all the grounds, and has a quiet operation.
If you love coffee, then you know that making a great cup of coffee at home is important. The best way to do that is to get a quality coffee maker. There are many different coffee makers on the market, so it can be tough to decide which one to buy. One option is a drip coffee maker. This type of coffee maker uses a filter to drip hot water over ground coffee beans. The water slowly seeps through the beans and collects in a carafe below. This method produces rich, smooth coffee with a full-bodied flavor.
Another option is a French press. This type of coffee maker uses a plunger to push hot water through ground coffee beans. The press traps the grounds at the bottom of the pot, which results in a thick and robust cup of coffee

help w/ open kitchen design
hi guys, (pictures first)[https://imgur.com/a/nOKWBRN].
I'm redoing the kitchen in an older home with lots of windows, and I wanted to get your advice before I purchase cabinets. the original layout of this room had a full wall dividing the living space and kitchen area, and a fridge blocked the little sliding door to the patio. to best open up the layout we halved the wall, and carved a spot for the fridge out of the laundry room. our next big idea is to replace all cabinets w/ gray base and white uppers. I was wondering If someone could give me some advice. the idea for the new workflow is to utilize the new kitchen island as pantry storage, prep area, and to set the groceries as you put them away in the fridge. the cabinets in the back get yanked out and a new "coffee station" / plates storage area goes in. I thank you in advance for your opinion and advice.

Which push-button drawer mechanisms work, if any?
Thanks for reading my question. We are trying to decide between a custom kitchen and an ikea kitchen. One of the issues is that the custom guy says he doesn't do push button drawers any longer, because he had too many complaints. He was using Blum. Now I have learned that ikea also uses Blum. Do the ikea ones have problems too? Are there any mechanisms that actually do work?
Appreciate your insights!
