We might not get one this gen, (I think steel would make sense if so). Game freak knows eeveelutions are easy crowd pleasers especially since eevee is an official mascot now. Its a great marketing move and brings more interest towards the game. We will eventually get a steel and dragon type but how long it takes we never know. They're probably saving dragon for a rainy day lmao.

The next Eeveelution is Steel.

In Pokemon, Eevee can turn into one of eight evolutions.

Fire, Water, Grass, Psychic, Dark, Ice, Electric, and Fairy. Each of the trading card game types. EXCEPT Metal/Steel (and Dragon).

The Galor region is based off of the UK with the games names bieng Sword and Shield. METAL IS A BIG THING YALL!!

Remember in Kalos when they introduced Fairy type, they were subtly everywhere!

There is also a rumor about “armor evolution” (but idk so its ignorable) BUT METAL

THE NEXT EEVEELUTION SHALL BE STEEL

AND EEVEELUTIONS WILL ONLY BE THE CORRESPONDING TYPES OF THE CARD GAME GOODNIGHT

Bug type isnt in the card game. I can only imagine, with the theme game freak has, they're only going to use the types from the card game so each type only has one eeveelution. Itd be weird to have two grass eeveelutions (with one technically bieng bug).

makes new feature called Amie that requires tons of new animation, art, and design for over 700+ pokemon that allows you to pet, play and talk to your pokemon

makes mega evolution and designs new mega evo designs

makes wondertrading, allowing trainers to connect with people all over the world randomly

makes o-powers, allowing eggs to hatching more easily

makes a brand new typing called fairy, a fan favorite now, and gives the typing to several older generation pokemon

makes super training, allowing trainers to EV train their pokemon faster
