do you know of any resources/advice/guidelines about writing fics in the asoiaf 'verse? (preferrably book verse but I'll take anything). I was bit with a sansan plot bunny but I've never written anything in the canon verse before and I'm a little scared I will get it all wrong.

saw your ask about cersei. Do u feel she is a foil to dany in the ways they navigate being denied power due to being a woman. In the books, especially in the scene of Cersei fingering whatsherface and feeling a sense of power, we see her almost trying to act traditionally male to assert her power such as using sex for power versus daenerys who seems to embrace her feminity in her quest for power whether through her nudity in the fires or allowing herself a paramour....

Hi! I’m sorry, I’m not sure whether this was in reference to this post or this post, but anyways. 

Yeah, I think Cersei and Dany are foils to each other, and I think that their relationship to power is a part of that. Daenerys derives her power from motherhood, from being the Mother of Dragons, and I’ve always felt she’s very comfortable with that, whereas Cersei I’ve sort of felt is almost resentful of his children? “The rule was hers; Cersei did not mean to give it up until Tommen came of age. I waited, so can he. I waited half my life.”

Their feelings about what to do with power are also wildly different. The Cersei scene that always stands out to me is when she stands outside the Sept and promises vengeance, and everyone is like, noooo, not vengeance, while Dany is much more concerned with her people’s welfare.

And I think there’s loads to say about Dany vs. Cersei, this isn’t even scratching the surface – the way that Cersei and Dany have been set up as narrative foils is one of the reasons why I think Dany is Cersei’s YMBQ who will take everything from her in ADOS.

But on her way to her betrothed’s home, her carriage is intercepted by Tully men and she becomes a hostage for the recent made King in the North. But what Ilaria sees as her slow coming doom, Tywin Lannister sees an opportunity, one that might help him win the war. But the price may be too high for even a Lannister to pay.

Bran nodded, eager to ride a horse instead of laying in bed. It had been nearly a month since Bran had awoken, and only three weeks since Tyrion Lannister made an appearance at Winterfell and presented Bran a design of a saddle that would allow him to ride despite the loss of his legs. Despite Robb’s suspicions towards the Lannisters, a suspicion that still remain with him, the imp’s design proved to be useful.

Huwin immediately made the saddle and Joseth trained Bran’s young horse — whom Bran named Dancer — to respond to rein and voice commands. At first Joseth or Hodor would lead the filly, while Bran sat strapped to her back in the oversize saddle, but for the past fortnight he had been riding her on his own, trotting her round and round, and growing bolder with every trot. Robb finally agreed to take him riding in the woods as they used to — along with half a dozen guards.

“Let’s ride then,” Robb said, gripping his horse — the one named Snowflake by Sansa before she left for King’s Landing — with his legs so it would move forward, walking from out of the stables. Bran spoke softly to his horse, commanding her to go and touching the small filly on her neck and forward it went.
