Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

Genuinely, my biggest criticism of the game is that NONE of your companions matter. They affect very tiny dialogue changes, but nothing in the actual story. You don't get Vicar Max greasing the palms of officials he's acquainted with, you don't get Felix causing a ruckus and getting you booted from a port. They're almost entirely nothing burgers and it's really disappointing and frankly, kind of boring in a game that emphasizes its dialogue choices and player choice. If you want to give the player choices, then your NPCs should have them too. Otherwise it feels like a dead world, and not in the they're going for with TOW.

You know, The Outer Worlds is fairly mid, but I really like how Parvati is the foil for both the player and Tobson/Spacer's Choice. I just wish the choice between Edgewater and the Deserters was fleshed out better. Tobson is delusional to think that they would come back, even if he "makes amends". But Adelaide is also delusional to think they would be able to survive unnoticed by the Board. I know that the Board is so spread thin, they can't spare the resources, but insurgence like that would be highly concerning for the Board, and it seems slightly unrealistic that there are never any Board patrols that try to raid or bring them back. We know that the world doesn't shy away from the slave labour that happens across the galaxy, they seem even gleeful about it. So how the fuck has Adelaide *grown plants* in dead soil completely unnoticed by the Board? Their entire organization works because they lie about the conditions of the planets they colonize, and the food they produce is making everyone sick from malnutrition. That's a highly valuable asset to the Board, but nobody above Tobson even sneezes at Terra 2.

I think Parvati is the foil in that she doesn't want anyone to suffer, and is the voice of reason between the player's potential bloodthirst and Tobson's need. But she never really gets to do anything with that. She's such a strong character that it's disappointing that she, ultimately, has absolutely zero impact on the story. She's your first follower! And her personal quest is cute, but she should have more sway as your "First Mate". I think the developers didn't want to lock decisions behind not having her/having her, but she absolutely should have unique dialogue that affects the outcome of the story, even minutely. She's one of the few characters with a very specific connection with Spacer's Choice. She's conflicted by her own loyalty, because that was what killed her father. I just love her so much. She's so good. And she's such wasted potential

Trump is putting a freeze on most federal funding as of 5pm ET 1/27/25. Medicare and SSI are not supposed to be effected, but Medicaid and SNAP will almost surely be effected.

If you have any refills you can send in/pick up, please try to do so before 5pm et today. If you have any remaining SNAP funds for the rest on the month. i would consider using them as well before the deadline. We do not know how long the freeze will last. Please try to prepare so you hopefully dont run out of meds before it is resolved

Hey... idk what to say. Waiting on some things to get moving, and while i thought we were good until my next payday but getting essentials ran me way over budget and I still need to get groceries, pet food (dog and cat), and trying to get like. Enough meal materials for the next bit and possibly get some assistance with rent so that I don't have to ask for anything else - we don't need help with the WHOLE amount of rent whatsoever, but hopefully we'll be in a much better place these coming weeks.
