(......Kind of contemplating just abandoning this blog. I don’t get any enjoyment out of it anymore, and every blog I follow keeps either posting nonstop about how much they hate Manfred, or supporting really gross age-gappy ships... and I feel like nobody wants to interact with a Manfred blog that treats them as a well-rounded character who has gone through their own set of traumatic experiences and has had the potential to be redeemed at some time in their life, if only in the distant past.

The main reason I wanted to make this blog was for catharsis reasons-- I wanted, I guess you could call it “proof”, that even somebody like me, grouchy and irritable and unfriendly and competitive and perfectionistic, could find happiness. I wanted to explore possibilities where Manfred had the opportunity to grow as a person and learn how to form friendships. There were so many things that lead to their canon doom that were out of their control, and I just wish people would try and view them-- if not canon Manfred, then my Manfred-- as somebody worthy of genuine love and support.

And I haven’t gotten any of that. I mean, my friends have made attempts at RPing with me, but it just... doesn’t feel genuine if they already know me personally and have listened to all my complaints about how people treat this character. I mean absolutely no offense to these friends, I love them all so so much. But deep down, I just really want a stranger to grow to see what I see in Manfred, and for their character to do the same.

Right now being on here just makes me very depressed. Not that I’m not usually depressed. But.

Any input would be appreciated. I’m not going to delete, at least, so I’ll be here if people send messages.)

This was... a gesture of affection, yes? A positive thing? They weren’t entirely certain how to behave in such a situation-- but they felt as though it would be impolite to reject what was almost certainly meant as an expression of fondness, and therefore simply stood there, rigid as a board, while waiting for the ordeal to come to an end.

For some reason, they had woken up with an absolutely devastating headache, coupled with a sore throat and general bleariness. They’d gone to work, of course-- and now, at the end of the day, they slouched over their desk in tired agony, rubbing at their temples in an attempt to relieve some of the pain.

Good gravy, what could he possibly want from them? It wasn’t as though he had any lack of simpering devotees that he could speak with instead-- and yet this man felt the need to pester the one person who wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.
