what's crazy about people discoursing the fall into Tartarus as Annabeth's fault, or that she dragged Percy in or whatever, is that it's literally the prime example (and I think best and only real good example) of both of their fatal flaws in action. The text is not subtle about this. Annabeth is too proud to notice her friends telling her "you are tied to the giant spider. Cut the tether on your ankle!" and gets pulled in. Meanwhile, Percy, one of the strongest demigods on the quest, would rather abandon the five other members of the quest + Nico, potentially dooming them and the world to die with her in Tartarus than live without her. He'd sacrifice the entire world for one person. He could have let her fall alone. Letting her fall alone would be the utilitarian thing to do. But he would never do that, because his personal loyalty to her means more to him than his loyalty to the rest of the world.

That's why they both fall.

Annabeth thrives with a body double and has Percy do it a lot. She grew up at CHB with usually having somebody around while she worked so she's very used to it.

Percy, conversely, is extremely finicky with body doubling. It's very dependent on what he's trying to get done and who the body double is. If it's Annabeth or Grover then he can get most things done okay. If it's his mom then stuff like cleaning or homework is very hit or miss depending on the day. Most other people if he's cooking or doing something casually something then it's fine, but if it's chores or academics it can make him more antsy because he's used to teachers or Gabe berating him over his shoulder, even if he's otherwise comfortable around them.

Jason also thrives with a body double. He and Reyna used to body double for each other a lot and it made them very effective centurions and praetors as a duo. He fell out of doing it though after the camp swap and it takes a bit for him to get used to it again.

It takes Piper awhile to get used to it after probably being introduced to it by Annabeth or Jason, but once she does she almost immediately teaches it to her dad to utilize at home. She struggles being a body double for other people though because she gets bored easily.

Leo actually does very poorly with a body double most of the time, just because he ends up too focused on masking instead to do much of anything. There are very very few people that he can body double with because he knows he doesn't have to mask around them and he calms down enough for it to be helpful. Most of the time he uses automatons and machines as functional body doubles - especially Festus.

Frank doesn't really get the body double thing but he ends up body doubling for a lot of the Argo II crew fairly often.

Hazel has a similar problem to Percy where she's a little too used to being berated to have body doubling be effective in a lot of cases, but with most of the Argo II crew it works for her because she's already comfortable around them. She body doubles with Frank, Leo, and Nico a lot.

As previously mentioned, Reyna also thrives with a body double. Jason used to be her go-to body double but post-quest Frank, Hazel, and Nico all get wrangled in to it too.

Nico's in a weird spot in that he didn't know what body doubling was but would summon ghosts to body double while he does stuff, just cause he knew it helped. He still does it. With few exceptions he starts having difficulty when it's a Living Human Person though, because he's too extroverted for his own good gets distracted by having somebody around. If it's someone he's really close to though and used to having around anyways it doesn't distract him as much.

Will borrows people to body double in the infirmary a lot. Usually his siblings but he will grab literally any camper that's convenient and just sit them down off to the side and start working. He tells people to visit him in the infirmary a lot and it's secretly his tactic to get people to body double for him while he's doing paperwork or organizing stuff.
