Ugghhh just found out Macoto died :( back in November. Posted about it on @artofmacoto (one of my sideblogs btw) but yea. He was 90 so he lived a long time but I'm so sad. I feel so lucky I got to meet him in 2017 at a meet and greet in Tokyo, I was randomly walking down the street and saw a giant poster of his artwork on a department store, so I went in the store and discovered they were having an exhibition of his work randomly and was so excited, and then I was buying some Macoto books and merch and the cashiers told me he was coming to do a book signing and I think I had a heart attack when I realized I could meet him. 😂 So I changed my arrangements for the end of my trip and came back to Tokyo. I waited in line to meet him, he was very sweet, I told him I was a big fan in Japanese and he signed my books. Well anyway I just feel so lucky that I got to meet him and even more lucky that he blessed us all with his work while he was here. <3
