GrandRod #3 is on the way
Jill announced nearly 2 hours late via Facebook. Kaylee is due 28th August 2023. At least the photos are better than Nurthan’s first pregnancy announcement.

My great-great-grandmother had a similar story, unfortunately. According to my grandmother (her granddaughter through her firstborn), my gg-grandmother had "at least 15 babies, but probably more." Her own granddaughter doesn't even know the exact number that were born. 8 survived infancy and 6 made it to adulthood, which are certainly better odds than the women mentioned above. But by the time her last child was born, she was so defeated that she literally handed the newborn baby to her oldest daughter, my great-grandmother (I think she was 12 or 13, so those pregnancies were seriously back to back. I hope for her sake their were a few sets of twins...) and told her daughter that the new baby was hers to raise. She never had anything at all to do with her youngest baby. Even though they all lived in the same house, my great-grandmother raised her baby sister with no help whatsoever from her mother.
I’m an avid genealogist and just discovered my 4x great grandma. She gave birth 15 times, lost 13 of those children (mostly within days of birth) and then died of heart failure within a year of her last pregnancy at 43! All I could think was how lucky she was to live such a wonderful, joyful life without the scourge of feminism hanging over her.
Apologies this one is a little older and I think it makes a really great point! It got buried under a sea of wedding asks that I'm still sorting through.
I've heard so many stories like your (great x4) grandma's and it honestly gets me a little emotional to think about. I just kind of have to sit with the heaviness of it for a second to not get kind of overwhelmed thinking about all of the mental, emotional, and physical trauma that must've come from something like having only 2 viable pregnancies out of 15 you know.....I can't even imagine what that would do to a person.
I was told a story once about someone's ancestor who had a really similar experience but lost all but the last baby, and by that time she had gotten pregnant with her last baby she'd just fucking lost it.....stopped eating, stopped talking, stopped bathing etc. A day or so after the baby was born she walked herself and the baby into a freezing river after being left alone for hours, which is obviously so incredibly horrible but to think about the amount of pain she must've gone through to get to that point like.......it must've been constant torture.
I think it's important to remember those kinds of stories though, especially when conservatives try to paint this picture of the past where everyone had a special role and was happy to fill it and it was the most ideal form of society. It's just such a blatant lie.

In the photo with the fire, is the girl in the white jacket next to John David Johannah? Cuz if so she's definitely wearing pants...
A couple SSs from Jed and Katey’s video about the Duggar Fall Festival. Abbie is definitely visible with Charlie, and Lauren clearly has an older (but still under a year) baby on her lap.
I did not see any Dillard or Seewald kids there (although they may have been).
Edit: Reddit thinks the baby in the middle of the second pic is Joken 4. Ruffles on the shoulders suggest girl (although I am not convinced of that).
