I haven’t done any monologue practice in a bit because of all the dubbing stuff i’ve done recently, but when I got home tonight I was just in a monologue type of mood, so here’s this.
It’s kind of negative, is about cheating, and has alot of swearing, so if any of that’s not your thing, don’t mess with yourself to listen to this one.

Here’s my new character demo reel! Got this one done at a studio instead of recording it myself, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. :D

I’m doing #Actober! The goal is to take a random character image each day of October and come up with a 30-60 second monologue and voice for them based entirely on what you think they’d sound like.
Today’s is a very Fire Emblem inspired intro for a commander named Andy.

So in the voice class I’m currently taking, Tia Ballard challenged me to reconnect to the fun and lack of concern that I used to have for all my voiceover stuff. So I’m challenging myself to just do one thing for fun every day for the next 30 days. This was a blast! (1/30) <3

Here’s some spookyness for you, had to do this after I saw the comic earlier.
All artwork is by Emily Carroll from her book, Through the Woods.
The actress is a friend of mine that doesn’t want her name out there.

So, what's your rate for voice acting? Just curious cus I know a lot of artists with animation projects that would need voiceacting. (alsothankyouforthefollowitmayhaveconfusedmyinboxbutitwasreallyniceonceitfixeditselfsothankyou^^)
For me it usually completely depends on the project or the depth of the lines/work. Any time I work on commission or am asked to do a paid project, I’ll usually ask them what they were thinking of paying/what their budget is, and if not then I’ll ask for what all they need done, and give a rough estimate based on how long I think that it will take me from start to finish.
I usually go a lot cheaper than these estimates, but this rate sheet from the Global Voice Acting Academy is a great reference material for what a lot of voice actors will expect. I usually shoot for somewhere in the range of $40-$50 per finished minute, or $0.10-$0.15 per word, depending on how the client would rather calculate payment, and adding a little extra if they’d like me to mix things like sound effects, background music, voice effects, and etc.
Honestly though I’m always looking for practice, and I’ll always at least hear a project pitch. If I actively want to be a part of something personally, I won’t always charge for stuff.
Get out there and commission some voice actors!!! (including me!!!! ^^;;)

A friend challenged me and said that I couldn’t turn this into a horror piece.
So I had to do that, obviously.
