Would you like to pre-order some naturally dyed yarn? I can't guarantee the colour, but I can say that it will be organic 100% high quality wool. Hand dyed by yours truly.
As this is my first time dyeing yarn, I will not be asking for more than the cost of materials and shipping. The cost of the dye and my time will not be factored in, as it will be in the future.
Pre-orders will close at the end of November, I anticipate the yarn being dyed at the end of January.
Your support means everything to me, as I navigate this new territory and dive into clarifying my craft business. I'm very excited about what's to come.
The listing is on my shop page, link in bio!
If you need it shipped to you (within Canada) order through the site, if you can pick it up in person, let me know!

I didn't expect the Sashiko thread to feel so soft! For some season I expected it to feel coarse, not buttery. It's very light and nice to hold. I cut my first length from it before reading the proper way of using the skein. It's still possible for me to do that, so I'll share in my stories later!

Carrying on the tradition of keeping pins in tins. This little Strepsils tin has been in my life for about as long as I can remember. (Thanks Mom.)
The pins in it have become a hodgepodge mix of long and short, thick and thin and... Bent and straight. So I got some little gold couture pins that will be nice to use. They came in a cardboard tube that was hard to reach into and get just one, but luckily I'm a bit of a tin hoarder. A Peppermint Altoids tin is their new home.

Got a lovely box of good things from @maiwahandprints yesterday! Got to upgrade my old bent pins to some thin and sharp gold plated ones, as well as the tools I need to try Sashiko! ... Well really all you need for Sashiko is needle and thread, but I like having all the fun toys. I can't wait to play with this technique and look forward to writing about it and sharing a project with you later in the month.
I'm thinking either a drawstring pouch or a book cover. What would you like to make?

And so, the Goldenrod has turned gray, along with my favorite view of the (my) woods.
What a powerful year it's been. I am incredibly grateful for all it's brought me. It's been a year since I moved back to Brantford. I'm glad that I was here for 2020. Lots of forced re-evaluation. Plenty of transformations took place, on cloth and in the fabric of my life.
I am not being cynical when I say I can't wait to see what next year holds for me. At the end of each day, there is always hope. Sometimes it's all we've got, but when we have it it's enough to get us through a winter.
Happy Samhain.

Close up of little toadstool pin! I've had these shiny beads for many years now and I'm so happy I've found another use for them.

Really simple stitches can be so versatile. I love the texture that straight stitches provide to a background or border. I'm definitely going to be doing more running stitches as I make more of these sweet pins and get into studying sashiko.

Well, the shop is up (link in Bio!), I've made my first sale through it and everything is coming together!
For now I'll rest a little and do some more dabbling. I have so many plans for blogs and tutorials, things to dye and things to sew. Thank you all for being here.
