A real tip that I’ve learnt with time and will 100% help you if you draw traditionally : never throw away your « failed » drawings. Instead, keep them in a special folder or something (in my case, I don’t have a desk so I draw on a biiiig thick notebook and put all of my failed drawings in the cover, which makes the notebook even thicker) Why, you ask ? two things : one day, you’ll be out of drawing paper and you’ll find some inside that you can salvage and you’ll be so glad ; two, most of the drawings you think you’ve “failed” are only failed because you’ve spent so much time looking at it you’ve started to hate it

So one day you’re going to go through all of them and find drawings where you’ll be like “wow, why the fuck did I think I failed that ? It was pretty good ! I can see some mistakes but I can easily fix them !”

I do this every once in a while and always find drawings like these, and I’m always so happy to do so because I can see I’ve improved since I can easily spot my mistakes now, but at the same time, I realise I didn’t suck as much as I thought I did, so that’s always a nice ego-boost !

Anyway, point is, keep your failures close, you never know when they’ll turn into magic
