idk how many times i’ve read this like maybe 3? but i read in “sojourning for freedom: black women, american comminism, and the making of a black left feminism” that she headed the consolidated housewives league in 1940s harlem discussing housing issues, police brutality, jobs, and the double victory. using those years of experience to write the novel. there is no reason why this shouldnt be a limited series like one season 🛐
