GFPOC is first and foremost about fat positivity and representation. We exist to uplift, celebrate, and represent all of our glorious fat people of color. We are here to give space and voice to those most often sidelined in the mainstream fat acceptance movement. We do not believe that fat fashion and the FA movement itself should be limited by Eurocentrism, hourglass figures (or other “acceptable fat” body types), or hyper-femininity. Fashion is about self-expression and ALL fat people of color deserve to be seen! GFPOC is a safe space for all fat people of color regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or any other marginalized identity. White fat people may follow, but this blog is not about you, so please respect our space and voices. If you are a fetish, porn, or feeder blog do not follow. We want GFPOC to be a community, so please feel free to drop by our inbox any time, submit photos, or tag us in posts. You know I wish fatphobia was less pervasive. Even among people who consider themself as progressive, it's rampant. So quick reminder. No it's actually not easy to stop being fat, and it sucks that we are treated differently for something we really can't control. Shaming a fat person for being fat, and shaming them for not having the "willpower" to become skinny- is bigotry. And if all you talk to fat people about is weight loss and dieting- congratulations! You're being a dick! Stop.
