Check out this set of label applicators for one of our paper mill customers. With this project, we upgraded our customer to a system with servo controls and an improved cycle rate. Faster and more efficient label applicating means a better running factory.

Modernized Roll Handling System Installed
In an effort to increase production, a kraft linerboard pulp and paper mill situated in the Southeast thought that by modernizing their roll handling system prior to upgrading their winder they would avoid downstream production bottlenecks. Globe Machine won the order to install a new roll handling system from the winder on the upper level paper machine floor to the lower level shipping and warehouse floor. The installation of the new Globe Machine system took place without stopping production.
The scope of machinery supplied included automated roll separation at the winder deck, a MoveRoll conveyor with 4 roll pockets, a new all electric lowerator fitted into the existing lowerator footprint, a new printer system, a new strapper, a scoop to reintroduce stray rolls, and an all-electric cradle upender. The new system can handle up to 90 rolls/hour.

Cocoon Wrapping System
Globe offers an Axial (Cocoon) Wrapping System to completely encase large tissue or towel rolls for mill export requirements or simply provide superior protection for internal warehousing purposes. The system uses a cradle belt design which eliminates support pressure on the roll and deep wrinkling during the wrapping process that would otherwise result in costly slabbing waste in the converting operations. Other unique features include automatic hot wire cut and heat sealing of the tail as well as label orientation if needed.
