This is essentially a digital diary where I support things I love and share topics that people who are smarter than me are talking about. There's no theme. Maybe I'll manage to say something funny or insightful occasionally, but I'm not making any promises.

Sometimes, I try to write and post stories on AO3. There's a chance I'll share them here eventually. In the meantime, my AO3 account and Tumblr do not share a name, but if you write for Baldur's Gate 3, I've probably read your stories and enjoyed them. I might be in your comment sections. That sounds ominous, but I only have nice things to say <3 Want me to read yours? Just say so, because I will!

I'm pretty friendly, so if you like my vibe, feel free to talk to me. I'm here because I crave the sense of community only the wild, anonymous internet can provide.

I had the officiant read a quote from Still Life with Woodpecker during my wedding vows and I still think this is how love should work:

“Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won't adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words "make" and "stay" become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.”

All I do is get on AO3 and cry.

Can we set aside the debate over whether Astarion is inherently “evil” or not and acknowledge that he’s kind of right? On a grand scale, if you’re a hero with a heart in Baldur’s Gate 3, you *are* unique and if you’re not a little suspicious of everyone, your chances of survival in Faerun are not great. Do you know how many people I trusted right before they tried to kill me the first time I played the game? If this were a real situation, I would probably be too gullible to survive. Somebody probably needs to be judging me and scoffing in the background. You’re right, Astarion--I should probably at least *consider* minding my own business. Who let me be in charge, anyway? Faerun is a big, scary world full of devils and slave-traders and vampire lords and capricious gods, etc. Any sweet old lady or colorful local could turn out to be a villain in disguise. Or even just an asshole in disguise—I probably would have been less inclined to help out a few of these pixel-people for free too if I’d have known they were going to be such dicks about it (you know who they are). I still prefer to keep being a good guy because it hurts my feelings to be mean to the pixel-people, but I’m just saying, I get it--we’re definitely not safe out here, especially with my dumb Tav at the helm.

Listen, if a Bad President can come in and take away our rights and we're dependent on a Good President replacing them in four years to give us back our rights, then we do not have any rights.

If politicians can take or distribute them, then they're not "inalienable" and they're not "rights."

We don't have inalienable rights we have conditional privileges, divvied out according to the whims of whoever currently holds the reins.

And if we want to have actual rights, then we must build a system in which no one has the power to take them away to begin with.
