Sooo.... I might have an idea for a story where there’s a big prophecy about a fair maiden and a brave knight where one must journey to save the other, starting alone and gathering allies through their own wit and actions. It pretty must includes that the two have an unbreakable bond with each other and everyone assumes it’s this one princess and her best friend/brother in all but blood Knight. So the knight gets harder training to prepare him for this.

Until one day HE’S the one kidnapped and the now princess has to go save her bro one her own, even with her father trying to make her stay in the castle and leave the knight for dead. I’ve got two or three allies that she’ll gathered planned out and it’s not gonna be the traditional ones. Princess won’t fall for the knight, he’s like her brother, but it might be fun to write out.

Would anyone want to read a story like that?

So... I’m kind of embarrassed that I have to make this post, but I’m really needing some help here.

I’m having some major money issues. I’ve barely got enough in my bank for gas now and I am currently unable to find a job, nor pay for my phone plan. I might be able to convince my family to by me a cheep refill in a few weeks, but until then I would have no access to my cell and a lot of job offers tend to call that number.

I would appreciate any help, even just a small amount would really help me out. I’ll even draw some art for everyone that donates. It’ll be a headshot, but I’ll fully color and shade it. I just... really need some help rn.

And if any of you can’t spare anything, please at least reblog this so that other people can see it. I really need the help rn.

Warning to writers

While you are worrying about whether beta readers will steal your ideas, there is a more genuine threat on the horizon.

When offered a publishing contract, please do all your research before you sign. There are a number of fakes and scammers out there, as well as good-intentioned amateurs that don’t know how to get your work to a wide audience. I won’t tell the heartbreaking stories here - there are too many.

Being published badly is worse than being never published.

It can destroy your career and your dreams.

The quick check is to google the publishing house name + scam or warning.

But, to be sure, check with these places first. They aren’t infallible (nothing is) but they can help you protect yourself. They are written and maintained by expereinced writers, editors, publishers and legal folks.

help me move from my abusive roommates!!

hi my name is Connor and i am a 20 year old trans man who is currently living in arkansas!!

i recently moved from iowa to arkansas to get away from abusive family and for the past eight months ive been stuck in yet another abusive situation.

My roommates currently are very guilt-trippy and mentally abusive to the point that i am so scared to say no unless i want to be threatened or kicked out. they guilt me into using almost all my money on their wants and they gaslight me a lot of the times that i have ptsd attacks on almost a daily basis. they guilt me for even eating food too.

they guilted me into taking a job closer to our apartment because they got tired of me working at another job. i do not like this new job that i was rushed to get and couldnt put a notice in at my old one.

now i can never work for that company ever again because according to my roommates it was too far but then one roommate gets a job just as far in another direction and says that it is different on account of this is her job, not mine.

i have no family in arkansas and so if i am kicked out i really dont have anywhere else to go. i also dont have my car currently because i dont really have my license but i am studying for one!! i also am planning to move in with a dear friend in a more affordable part of arkansas in the future, but i dont want my roommates catching on. im plannin to save money but i still have to chip in so they dont figure out im tryin to leave them unless i want to be hurt again.

A page on the colors of bruises+healing stages: well just that. there you go. describe your bruises properly

McCormick Science Institute: yes this is a real thing. the site shows off research on spices and gives the history on them. be historically accurate or just indulge in mindless fascination. boost your restaurant au with it
