Digital divide AND digital equity
Digital Equity is a "condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy and economy Digital Equity is necessary for civic and cultural participation, employment, lifelong learning, and access to essential services" (Pazurek & Feyissa, 2015). It's kind of hard for people to live there everyday lives without having any type of access to the internet. I personally don't think I would know as much as I know now if I didn't have the internet. I get all of my daily news, updates around the world, and keeping up with sports on a daily basis.
Digital divide "means the gap between the people who have access to computer equipments and knowledge and the people who do not have access to computer equipments and knowledge." (Pazurek & Feyissa, 2015). Without the internet things would just be much harder but with that I know my responsibilities of being on the internet. You have to be respectful and mindful of others that's also on the internet.
"This movement formulated solutions in public policy, technology design, finance and management that would allow all connected citizens to benefit equitably as a global digital economy spreads into the far corners of the world population"(Radovanovic, 2011). This will help everyone who uses the internet to benefit from it in some way. It can be the smallest things but when we get knowledge from it we can spread it to whoever else that's lacking the ability to aces the internet. "That can be a heavy lift when you consider all the types of students on the playing field those from low income districts or rural communities, kids with physical or learning challenges, and girls or minority students who are not getting the same opportunities and support that would set them up for careers in tech fields"(Gonzales, Calarco, & Lynch, 2018).

Digital citizenship
Digital citizenship refers to" the responsible use of technology by anyone who uses computers, the Internet, and digital devices to engage with society on any level"(Gleason & von Gillern, 2018). Bad digital citizenship, on the other hand, entails cyberbullying, irresponsible social media usage, and a general lack of knowledge about how to safely use the Internet. Digital citizenship comes with a lot of things such as passwords, private, and personal information. "While this information (like the number of brothers and sisters you have or your favorite food) can’t be used to identify you, you still need to choose who you will share it with"(Gleason & von Gillern, 2018). Digital citizenship and digital literacy both go hand and hand it's like they feed off each other. They both take knowledge and common sense to be able to obtain. There are people, like expert "Anne Collier, who think we should put in contexts like this one because we’re really just teaching citizenship these are the skills and knowledge that students need to navigate the world today. We must teach these skills and guide students to experience situations where they apply knowledge"(Ahlquist, 2014). Cyberbullying is something that happens on the internet all the time and people stand back and watch it instead of taking action. Being on the internet comes with a lot of responsibilities and respect for others.

Social Media & Participatory Culture
Social media can be very helpful kin many ways but one thing that's starting to happen with social media is that companies can start networking. They post about there brand and show people how they run things. They partner with advertising agencies and internal marketing teams who need digital media expertise but are unable to hire new employees or invest in expensive, lengthy training(Gruzd, Dubois, & Jacobson. 2020). By doing this they manage to have people all over the world to see what their doing and hope they would want to join them or join there team.
You may wonder how these companies get through this process and hope for success. Many jobs are never even advertised as available, but are filled by internal hires or people within the manager’s network. But somehow get these people from all over to be apart of their team. Imagine how better it would be once everyone starts using social media for networking. Networking is more valuable for the information you get. Through networking you can learn what specific companies are like, what they are hiring for, what skills and experiences the managers there most prize and more(Curtin, 2020).
One of the most important things about networking is networking isn’t about taking it’s about giving. Think about what you have to offer to the people you know and people you’d like to know. When networking you have to assume there's competition so you want to do your best by making whoever you want on your team comfortable and make it feels like a family they about to join. Don't give them a reason to say no.
Nothing beats gratitude as a means of boosting our spirits especially during a difficult time. And it will make you memorable. People who feel you are grateful for their help are more inclined to help you again. People should live by that, it's about being respectful and show people that you actually care. Send thank you notes, handwritten as often as possible, to anyone who helps you in anyway. Not only is this polite, but it will make you feel great(Fernandez, 2018).

Social Media and Its Affects
Social media plays a big role and our everyday lives. Some people rely on social media just to get through the day , others live off of social media. We depend o n social media too much and it can cause a lot of issues. Social media can allow people to reach out and connect with others, it can also make some people feel worse. Sitting on your phone all day isn't healthy for you. People need face to face interactions not just through your phone. One problem is that social media use can disrupt sleep, and poor sleep can lead to anxiety and depression.
A lot of things could cause you problems from just being on your phone for too long. In fact, teens and young adults often worry about what they call fomo which stands for “fear of missing out,” which is anxiety about missing out on experiences(Smith & Anderson, 2018). 95% on teens have phones and we don't know what goes on but One thing that happens is cyber bulling. Cyber bullying is more strongly correlated with suicide attempts than is face to face bullying. There needs to be some rules that need to be put in place with these social media apps because some of the things people do on there cause a lot of hurt to kids and others.
I think social media is good and we need it just not as much as we think we need it. There is a lot of things you can learn from being online there is a lot of news, and daily updates you can be aware of when it comes to being on social media.
Some people use social media to promote their business or there local gym it' small things that people want to get out there so they can grow there business and get more people to join I think that's one of the main things social media need to be use for. Networking can bring people together and help people grow there businesses together.
