falling secretly in love

and if the world were

to end today

you walked through the door,

or that last mention of my name

as i walked past you before

then, there is nothing

i’d want more

December winter,

the never-ending snow momentarily stopped falling

and with our pyjamas and thick coats,

we ran outside to ignore the world,

admire the cold sky,

give every star we’d see silly names

for they were scarce that night

laying down the front lawn,

handing out kisses to each other’s lips

to fight the freezing temperature,

just us, together

running out of breath from childish laughter,

spending all the youth we have left,

countless i love you’s

and you too’s

that night,

when nothing else mattered, and

we didn’t care about anything else

that night,

when we created our own universe

and how you showed me what

love looks like, again
