Firsly I'd like to say a mega thanks to Learn Finance Now for the help in setting up this tiny finance blog. I love talking about finance, everything from savings to health insurance and I defo wouldn't be able to do it without their help. I find the internet rather confusing. Who'd of thought I'd ever have a tumblr blog telling people about investing and insurance. Its just crazy. I'm hoping I can educate the young about personal finance so they don't fall into the same sort of trap I did when I was of a younger age. It took me ages to undo the damage to my credit rating and I won't let any more young broke people make the same mistakes as me. Spend responsibly guys.

We were poor back then. Not living in a cardboard carton poor, not “we might have to eat the dog” poor, but still poor. Poor like, no insurance poor, and going to McDonald's was a really big excitement poor, wearing socks for gloves in the winter poor, and collecting nickels and dimes from the washing machine because she never got allowance, that kind of poor… poor enough to be nostalgic about poverty. So, when my mom and dad took me here for my tenth birthday, it was a really big deal. They’d saved up for two months to take me to the photography store and they bought me a Kodak Instamatic film camera… I really miss those days, because we were still a real family back then… this mall doesn’t even have a film photography store anymore, just a cell phone and digital camera store, it’s depressing… - Rebecca McNutt

The average American watches more than four hours of TV each day. In a 65-year life, that person will have spent nine years glued to the tube. Why? Simple. Life sucks. Life needs an escape. Life is no good.Show me someone who spends hours online playing Mafia Wars or Farmville, and I'll show you someone who probably isn't very successful. When life sucks, escapes are sought. I don't need television because I invested my time into a real life worth living, not a fictitious escape that airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m.Again, majority thinking yields mediocrity, and for that majority, time is an asset that is undervalued and mindlessly squandered. - M.J. DeMarco
