ok whatever chronic depression haver post incoming but I’ve always prized my ability to keep going/be generally “functional” by societal standards even when I’m doing badly but i feel like I’m starting to see the bad side of it which is that I’m sort of always waiting for things to get “bad enough” to merit some sort of serious intervention, which then justifies putting off intervening even when it would definitely make my life better . Idk maybe you don’t have to hit rock bottom to try to seek treatment that will make your quality of life improve? then again I feel like a lot of the time when I seek medical help it’s just kind of a bust in general due to Medical Industrial Complex etc so is it even worth the effort?

all theorizing aside I DO need to find a new psychiatrist in 2025 (have scraped by without one for the past … 4+ years ….) which is going to be a whole thing of course

I can't lie, I find it very odd that posts cautioning people against donating to individual* campaigns and promoting the idea of supporting mutual aid efforts and community kitchens in Gaza can rack up 10k+ notes--while a post promoting a community kitchen (that I can personally vouch for) struggles to get 1k notes, and has barely pulled in a couple hundred dollars over the past week.

I actively try to avoid using guilting tactics in fundraising, but this is weird to me. It's like people are using these posts as an excuse not to do things they already didn't want to do anyway, rather than actually taking their recommendations on board...

After being in this field for 4+ years I’m pretty good at compartmentalizing. but today I’m listening to the oral arguments in the SCOTUS trans care case (for work) while I wait to pick up my friend who I’m taking care of after top surgery and there is simply no way to compartmentalize.
