as part of my decision to redo all my blogs ( gradually one at a time )  , now it's maya's turn. over the years, some things have bothered me. i feel i need this fresh start, i want to start over and redo everything, work better on relationships with other rpers, with other muses, using all the things i've learned here over the years. i'm not going to dwell too much here, but i just want to say that i'm going to be a little more selective about how i do things. i don't want to be just a number to you guys, i don’t want to have like thousands of followers & feel that none of them wants to interact with me, you know? i don’t want to speak to the walls, i want to speak and be heard. i’m here to rp. i want to be important, and i want people to be important to me too. feel free to follow me if you guys want~ i’m gonna work more on my canon verses, but also on my aus for boku no hero, kimetsu no yaiba, comics, historical aus, etc, i’m gonna work hard on maya bc she’s fucking awesome and needs love. so please, if you really have any interest in rp with me, follow me on my new blog !! i promise you guys that this is gonna be fun. ♥

headcanon.   ------   &&.  hands.

Maya's hands usually have many visible calluses and her fingers are almost always covered with bandaids. It stands in stark contrast to her normally very feminine, attractive appearance, but it's natural if you remember that she comes from a family where Kenjutsu is very traditional. She currently teaches Kenjutsu and martial arts as a ‘regular job’ on the dojo of her property. She keeps her nails of medium or short size  ( it's ideal for handling swords and performing martial arts movements involving hands )  , and only work on them on weekends. She's not ashamed to show her hands, her scars are the proof of her path as a warrior.

   “ you felt it; not your magic sword… ? ” so it’s not just her sword that has uncommon talents. he shouldn’t be surprised: he guesses people with no extrasensory abilities don’t usually find themselves in the possession of magical weapons. “ do you feel anything different about this place? ” he doesn’t. and he usually feels something; if there were in fact ghosts or other entities to worry about… but not always. nothing could be that simple all the time, of course.     “ we’re not looking for a squirrel, but I’m just saying– if that’s all we find? sorry. ” finding a mundane explanation for a supposed ‘haunting’ was always a bit of a let down to him, and probably would be for her, too. but it happens. the chatter was preventing them from finding a squirrel or anything else, though, so he finally heads toward the door, lightly motioning for her to follow with a hand. “ – but I wouldn’t call it hunting? ” lots of people do, so he doesn’t blame her: it’s a common turn of phrase. one he avoids, though. “ ‘makes it sound like we’re trying to kill somebody, and whatever we find in there is probably already dead. ” more importantly, though; “ and I’m not trying to hurt them– if we don’t have to… ”

If he really wants to know she doesn't feel anything abnormal, which shouldn't be taken into consideration because it's not a superpower she has. Although it may seem, Maya is an ordinary human being------well, maybe not that ordinary, but there are many things beyond her touch. She is, indeed, a powerful woman, a master of her family's sword style, as well as a keen connoisseur of ancient rituals and traditions, and her perception of the world is definitely sharper than that of a common person thanks to her mastery of chi  ( allowing the woman to feel sudden changes in the air, or the presence of someone really powerful, for example )  , but there's a limit for those who are not born with great supernatural powers. She’s a skilled swordsman, perhaps the greatest of all, but all she knows and can do has been gained through hard work and has its limitations. It didn't come naturally, she didn't come into the world under the touch of the gods.

“  ... Sounds fair,  ”    she retorts about his last comment, shaking her head negatively when asked if she’s able to feel something. She silently follows him toward the door as her eyes scan the room ;  a habit that has become natural over the years. Maya is determined to be helpful and assist him in what he needs to do, she raises her arm and pale fingers quietly slide down over the sheath of the sword attached to her back------Reiki, after all, it’s a magic ceremonial sword, imbued with special powers to attain things that do not necessarily belong to the living world. Reiki  ( the sword )  almost screams inside her head, claiming to be used.

Although the hierarchy between them  ( and therefore the visible difference between their existences )  is absolutely clear in the way one blesses and the other kneels, the truth is that Amaterasu has much respect and appreciation for the fox. No, she doesn't look at her as a servant, but as a friend, as a soul whose connection to hers surpasses even the most fanciful human concepts. And that’s why that request was made to Ruyi and could never have been made to anyone else------because only Ruyi would understand what ‘important’ means to her.

“  ... I’m sure this will be a simple task for you.  ”   The goddess allows her lips, rosy as the juiciest fig, to form a soft smile. Her divine aura blends with the wind that blows in the temple, calm, tranquil but powerful.   “  Evoke my name when it's done, and I know it will be.  ”

Saying it, she turns back to the temple doors as Ruyi disappears through the mist of dusk.
