Testing the whole outfit! I’m not binding, which is surprising- I angled it to look flat, even though I’ve got E’s. And again, no foundation and haven’t cut my hair… But I kinda like this hairstyle. Still haven’t decided on facial hair. I look good clean shaven…. Maybe I’ll stick with 5 o clock shadow for awhile.

Since a friend told me I looked like him, I tried doing a small Mako costest and I’m actually proud of how it came out! Looking forward to doing an official cosplay sometime next year tho.

Drag Delight GoFundMe

For the past 10 years, the Gay-Straight Alliance at Valdosta State University has held the Drag Delight HIV/AIDS benefit to provide awareness and donate to a worthy cause to help those who have HIV/AIDS. We have raised over $10,000 which has been donated to AIDS awareness and prevention since Drag Delight was first started. The show contains fun and absolutely fabulous entertainment from a variety of local and non-local drag queens and kings. The performers donate their time and talent, and the donations they receive during their performances will be presented to a HIV/AIDS charity of the Gay-Straight Alliance’s choice. In order to continue this deeply important event, the Gay-Straight Alliance is looking for outside donations to help fund various parts of this year’s event such as catering for attendees and performers. In addition, the funds will also go towards helping to continue this event for many years to come. The Gay-Straight Alliance at Valdosta State University would sincerely appreciate any amount you could donate as well as/or getting the word out about Drag Delight.

hi, i was wondering if you had any tips for doing drag make-up as a darker skinned girl? i mean i know youre not, but you are also fabulous and i dont really know that much about makeup so anything you could think of might help. sorry if its a bother haha

Hey! This totally isn’t a bother at all and I get why you’re asking; it’s hard enough to find drag king resources, let alone something that’s not from a light skinned person. Unfortunately, while I know a few kings of colour, they don’t know about any tutorials dealing with drag makeup for dark skinned people specifically. They also don’t have Tumblr, so I can’t send you their way. And being light-skinned myself with a similarly light-skinned drag dad, I don’t have first hand experience, like you said.But! Not all kings wear makeup, but as one that does I absolutely see the appeal of it. The best thing I can suggest is going to be using your Google-fu to combine a number of resources. Look to the handful of drag queen looks for dark skin tutorials and contouring for dark skin tutorials on YouTube for samples of products you can use and how to find your colours. I found a few of these by searching “dark skin drag makeup” on YouTube. Then use these products to replicate the techniques you can find in drag king makeup tutorials, which is 85% contouring. Maybe consider using black crepe hair to give yourself a goatee or something really masculine. My drag makeup takes about an hour to do, and it’s almost all contouring. But I also recommend a bit of eyeliner and mascara to keep your eyes clear on stage.However, contouring does usually change the way your skin tone is presenting. When you’re lighter skinned, you wind up looking more tanned and darker. When you have a darker skin tone, the contouring usually makes you seem lighter skinned. It just seems to be the effect contouring has on the way your skin tone presents, pulling you towards another point on the spectrum because of how strong the highlights and shadows present on different skin tones. But some people are uncomfortable with their skin tone seemingly lighter or darker, so I wanted to make it known this usually happens with contouring.There are so few resources for drag kings, we unfortunately have to get super creative! This means lots of pulling from various resources and trial and error. Best of luck on your drag adventure and I hope I was able to help somewhat. I know my own experiences have narrowed my view and ability to see potential problems you may encounter. But it is my hope that similar makeup techniques with a colour pallette tailored to your skin tone will work!
