I think the ones who hate Ron only know him from the movies, in which he was a little more unlikable? I mean, I love book!Ron and book!Ginny, but movie!Ron and movie!Ginny were just less likable to me?
I don’t blame you for seeing Ron that way. It doesn’t surprise me. The main screen-writer for the ‘Harry Potter’ film series (Steve Kloves) was a Harmony shipper who hated Ron and Ginny for getting in the way of his OTP.
You’ll notice that, in each film he wrote (except ‘Order of the Phoenix’ which is the only one he didn’t write), Ron has many of his greatest moments either given to Hermione or Harry, or changed to make him seem less impressive.
In ‘Philosophers/Sorcerers Stone’, he is the lazy idiot in the devils snare scene, instead of being the one who helps Hermione calm down.
In ‘Chamber of Secrets’, Hermione already knows what a ‘M*db**d’ is, stripping Ron of his inside-knowledge of the wizarding war, as well as pushing Ron’s defense of Hermione into the background.
In ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’, Ron mumbles and moans on the floor whilst Hermione tells Sirius that Sirius will have to go through them to get to Harry.
‘Goblet of Fire’? Ron is rude to Harry, Hermione (especially during the Yule Ball) and everyone around him. He’s made into a figure of fun for most of the film, with little or no importance in the wider story that year.
‘Half-Blood Prince’? Stays in the background, but makes Hermione cry over him dating Lavender. In the books, they were both horrible to each-other.
‘Deathly Hallows’? He leaves because he thought Harry was snogging Hermione, not because he thought Harry didn’t care about his family. His knowledge of a book that Hermione had not read (’The Tales of Beedle the Bard’) is played as a joke, rather than an surprising fact that is un-heard-of before this.
With each film, Ron’s likeability was diminished further and further. A real shame, considering how lovable the character was in the books. Rupert Grint deserved much better than the hand he was dealt by Kloves, and so did Ron.
It’s really sad that most people only see Ron as the sidekick from the films, because his book counterpart was so much more.

It’s… lonely. To be more powerful than any man you know, and have to live like a shadow. To be special, and have to pretend you’re a fool. I know how it feels, I… understand.

You said memories become stories when we forget them. Maybe some of them become songs.

I cannot stress this enough- Build a routine. Build Habits. Wake up every day and get used to being productive, one day at a time. Do this for long enough and eventually you’ll be at your goal without even realising it.

Amandla Stenberg is showing a generation of black kids how to shut down racist trolls
While the racist reaction to her casting in The Hunger Games is perhaps what Amandla Stenberg is still most publicly associated with, in the mere three years since, she’s become a bold, outspoken, feminist role model. “That’s the least I can do, is try to start a conversation, try to get people thinking about a certain topic,” she told Mic.
We sat down with Stenberg to talk about her feminist awakening, using her celebrity for good and how her goal in life will help black girls everywhere.
