It's another non-pnr romance and another new-to-me author from me today, as once again I've been led into the world of humans lol. Thank you to everyone that posted this book, I really enjoyed it. 😁💕

Gavin & Thea Scott have been married for 3 years, they have young twin daughters and have both been ignoring their own personal issues & marital issues, throughout their entire marriage. Thea has kept secrets and Gavin is away from home regularly, resulting in an unhappy, lonely Thea. When the discovery of Thea's intimate secret is revealed, and Gavin's reacts with the silent treatment, She's had enough and announces that she wants a divorce & Gavin out of their home.

With the help of his friends and a male only romance reading book club, Gavin is determined to fight for his marriage and win back his only love, Thea. But things aren't as straightforward as he hopes, it's not as simple as just reading words and implementing them into your life, marriage takes work on both sides. Truths have to be faced, trust is essential and continual communication is the key, on both sides.

This was a funny read, I found myself laughing at several moments throughout this story, especially when the men are all together lol. However I did feel frustration & irritation as well 😏 Gavin to me was selfish/childish and Thea was a complete hypocrite/liar. When your both pretending, living a lie, how can the blame ever be placed on one side? Simple answer = It can't! And both are required to work at a relationship/marriage not just one.

Today's book is a YA story (which I don't read much of anymore but I'm so glad I did, with this book.) So, don't let that stop you if you tend to stay away from younger based reads, this book is definitely suitable for older readers as well.👍 I loved this story by new-to-me author @johnconnollybooks the characters are brilliantly fascinating, the story plot is compelling (I couldn't put it down) and absolutely hysterical, I laughed out loud from start to finish with this one. I enjoyed it so much, that I immediately went online to buy the rest of this series. This book gets a 5 star rating from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SYNOPSIS:

Samuel Johnson has a number of problems. Samuel's dad cares more about his car than his family, Samuel's mother is lonely, and only Samuel's dog, Boswell, truly understands him.

Oh, and as if things couldn't get any worse, Samuel's neighbours, led by the villainous Mrs Abernathy, are trying to open the gates of hell. It's up to Samuel to stop them, except nobody will believe him, and time is running out . . .

Why did it take me so long to read this book? 🤦

I'm feeling annoyed at myself, for having missed out all this time. What an amazing story with characters who have completely captured my heart ♥️ I was hooked immediately, Juliette's writing style, is what I always hope for/look for in a story, having the ability to bring that feeling of realness that allows you to completely believe in what your reading.

If your like me and have seen this book posted and thought it sounded interesting, looked into buying it or if you own a copy but haven't read this yet, you must fix that right now, that's an order lol. Honestly You'll never regret it. 🤩 Darkest Heart gets a 5 star rating from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Set in a post-apocalypic world, after the war between heaven and hell, warrior angel, Anya, is searching for the archangel, Uriel, to remove the darkness sweeping through her system after being bitten by the demon prince, Simian. His poison will take her body & soul until she's nothing more than a willing puppet, in the hands of a monster. Finding Uriel is her only hope to stopping the terrifying future that awaits her, but she can't search for Uriel herself, there's many places far too dangerous for an angel to traverse, too many demons who'd stop at nothing to enslave, use, or kill her.

In order to complete her mission, Anya is introduced to Dommiel, a high demon who can get her into the places she needs to be, find those who can help and introduce her to a surprising and most welcome realisation. The world is no longer black and white, with good on one side and evil on the other, there's also shades of grey, which opens Anya's eyes to how blind she and others of angelic nature have been.

This is the second M/M series that I've read by #clairecullen and I already know, that I'll now be looking out for more of her books. Another new-to-me author I'm really enjoying 👍

Firstly I've read soooo many shifter based romances, but I've never read anything like this trilogy. We follow the 3 bear shifter brothers of Evenfall, as they each find their mates and deal with unexpected issues. Warning prepare yourself for some very emotional #bookfeels with this trilogy. The mates of these bears will break your heart with their backgrounds. 💔

The overall feeling of sadness from these stories, surprised me, I'm used to more of a happy vibe in my reads or a bit of emotional to-and-fro, not OMG I want to cry from practically the beginning.😢

But I'm glad I found these stories, they were different, intriguing, introduced new shifter rules and includes alot of magic & magical beings. I really enjoyed them, which seems weird to say due to the cruelty/abuse experienced by these mates. 😬

Damon's father is the brutal, cruel, twisted alpha of the pack who rules with an iron fist, obey or die is his approach to all including his own family.

After hurting Damon when he defends Julie and her brother, against his pack, the innocent childhood friends, lose contact for 10 years. Now Julie is home after graduating from college, and the childhood friends bump into each other again.

The families are still against each other, Damon's father has gotten worse with his cruelty and the fact the Damon and Julie are mates is never going to be an easy announcement to make, and puts them both in extreme danger.

As you can probably guess from the amount of authors listed, it's another anthology book today. I picked up 3 books while out shopping today which I really shouldn't have done as I ordered 7 books online last night 🤭 But you can never have enough books in my opinion and today's finds were only £1.00 each #bargain👍

There are 25 vampire based short stories in this book and the stories are described as gothic romance, gritty contemporary tales of urban vampire love (can you class vampire stories as contemporary?) Stand alone stories and novellas from established series. So a mix of tales for me to read 👌

I'm not sure when I'll get to read this book, I have several stories to read first, and I'm kind of hooked on ebooks just now lol. But I couldn't not pick it up.
