chapter 2
As Gia walked home, the cool breeze of the late after noon helped her clear her head. Gia pulled out her phone to check the time, her phone was flooded with notifications but 2 seemed to catch her eye…
instagram : Chris Sturniolo has followed you
Snapchat : Chris Sturniolo has added you
Her heart thumped, she hesitated as her thumb hovered over the accept button, before finally accepting his requests.
Later on that night Gia was back in her room, she couldn’t help but think about Chris, she was angry why does he think he can just follow me after all these years of there rivalry she told herself, she decided she would post something on her story of a photo she took before practise, the photo was a mirror selfie she had one hand on her hip and she had her Tonge poking out when taking the photo she had no intention of it being posted she only had a crop top on with small bike shorts, she hit post.
Minutes later, she noticed a notification..
Chris Sturniolo liked your story
Gias heart skipped a beat, she found herself staring at his profile picture, a casual yet striking image that revealed a different side of Chris which she was starting to see the the profile was a candid photo of him in his lacrosse gear his dark brown hair messed from the wind, his face had no emotion his jaw was chiselled and he was staring into the distance, his piercing blue eyes sharp with competitiveness.
Confusion clouded her thoughts as she tried to make sense of Chris’s actions. Did he like the story out of genuine interest or was it just another move in their ongoing rivalry? Gia sighed, she couldn’t stop thinking about his intentions from a simple like on instagram.
As the evening went on, Gia couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe their rivalry was something more complex. She new she should focus on upcoming competitions and her major responsibility’s of a senior, but Chris Sturniolo’s presence seemed to linger in her thoughts.
Gia couldn’t help but pick back up her phone and click on Chris name its like her fingers took control they started dancing along the screen.
Chris perspective
Chris scrolled through his instagram feed, liking photos and catching up on recent updates, when Gia’s story popped up, he hesitated before tapping onto it, the image caught his attention while also catching him off guard, he couldn’t deny the rush of admiration seeing her like that, the way she had no shirt on just in her small crop top with her tongue poking out in a spiteful manner witch cause him to adjust his member, he didn’t think much about it before clicking like on the story. Immediately a small voice appeared in his head questioning his actions.
Why did you do that Chris he muttered to himself, leaning back in his chair running his finger through his hair before he received a ding..
Gia Marx : “thanks I guess? 😒”
Chris couldn’t help but chuckle it was classic gia fiery and competitive, and unwilling to show any sign of being impressed.
Chris quickly typed out a response.
“Wow your so welcome snowflake, you know you love me 😏”
As he hit send Chris felt a sense of satisfaction. Their exchange was a reason of why he enjoyed their rivalry it kept things interesting.
But beneath the playful jabs and competitiveness Chris couldn’t ignore the undying tension that simmered between them. There was something about Gia that intrigued him beyond their rivalry something he couldn’t put into words.
With a shake of his head to clear his thoughts, Chris set his phone down and returned to his homework, knowing that whatever was happening between them was far from over.

chapter 1
Sandstone high school was always alive with energy on Friday afternoons, due to the fact students where always rushing to escape there classrooms, their minds wandering to there weekend plans, but not Gia Marxs, with her dark hair framing her face and hint of dark flare in her style, she manoeuvred through the clusters of busy teens with determined steps. As a senior and the sandstone cheer captain she drew attention wherever she went, her presence was mixed with confidence and charisma.
Turning the corner she was faced with Chris Sturniolo where him and his lacrosse teammates stood, there irritating laughter filled Gia’s ears, her eyes shot to Chris and his medium length dark brown hair and his annoyingly perfect build and effortless charm that all while made Gia cringe with anger.
Gia’s lips collided into a thin line as she confidently approached the group, her gaze quickly locking onto Chris’s with a mixture of annoyance and resistance. They had a sour history, a rivalry that spread across their schooling years, fuelled by anger and competion and an unspoken tension that hid deep beneath the surface.
Chris met her glare head on, a smirk playing at the corner or his lips “what do you want snowflake” he teased, his voice was laced with amusement knowing he hit a nerve. Gia twitched immediately getting flashbacks from the nick name.
8th grade-
During a lunch break Gia was walking to her friend group when Chris intentionally knocked Gia over causing her to tumble to the floor, Gia was quick to scramble to her feet Chris smirked “careful there, Snowflake, always so fragile.” He said rolling his eyes smirking.
Gia’s eyes quickly pooled  with water as she hurriedly walked away there for make her decision declaring he was the cruelest person she had ever met deciding she would become the pain of his existence, as she left Chris chuckled with his friends laughing at there newfound nickname.
Flash back over.
Gia’s dark eyes narrowed. “Maybe you should learn to watch your self tough guy.” Her tone dismissive.
Chris smirk narrowed his jaw clenched embarrassed as his friend chuckled. “Always a firecracker, aren’t you snowflake.” Chris stated as his eyes shot daggers to Gia’s, he knew that Gia knew he hated the remark “tough guy”
With a sharp flick or her hair, she pushed or even shoved past Chris and his friends, ignoring the sound of Chris’s friends chuckles due to her departure. She couldn’t stand his cocky demeanour, his easy charm that seemed to win over everyone.
Chris watched Gia’s figure with a mix of frustration he stood there tense not moving muscle knowing that he let her get under his skin but he couldn’t help the feeling of admiration. She was unlike any other girl he had met she was confident, independent, and unapologetically herself. From their first clash in 8th grade, they had been locked in an undying battle, each determined to prove their somewhat superiority.
Lacrosse was Chris passion, a sport in which he thrived doing on the endlesss rush or competition and the companionship of his teammates. As he jogged to the field, thoughts of Gia lingered in the very back of his mind. Despite their rivalry, he couldn’t deny the tension that sparked when ever they crossed paths.
Durning practise, Chris gave in all his energy to his drills, his focus occasionally floating as he caught a glimpse of Gia cheering with her squad on the sidelines as she jumped up and down showing her compassion Chris couldn’t help but stare out her figure her hip her legs they was her skirt would slowly fly up every time she would be thrown in the air. There was something magnetic between them a tension formed of rivalry and unspoken attraction.
During breaks in practice Gia stole moments to herself, replaying their exchange in her minds. She watched from a far as Chris’s easy confidence when yelling at his team mates and the way he effortlessly commanded attention, frustrated her more as well as make her her flustered it made her heat throb from seeing his dominance, she angrily pulled her self out of her fantasy trailing back to the fact in which she couldn’t understand why he seemed so unfazed by there whole interaction while she found her self constantly on edge when ever he was around.
Deep down Gia knew there was more to her feelings than just spite and annoyance. Despite their unwritten rule against dating players knowing everyone would scold her for even thinking about crossing that line, there was an undeniable attraction that that clawed beneath the surface. She had to admit it to herself that Chris very much intrigued her in ways she couldn’t explain, something way beyond their rivalry.
As practice came to and end the whole time Gia couldn’t help but crave Chris attention some time throwing in a few glares or slighting raising her voice when counting just so she could get any sort of validation from Chris that she strangely longed for.
As the cheerleaders slowly disappeared Gia lingered on the sidelines, slowly watching Chris and his teammates head to the locker room.
Chris couldn’t shake the feeling that there small encounter somewhat shifted something inside him.
With a sigh Gia pushed aside her thoughts of Chris and refocus on her responsibilities of captain. She knew that indulging in thoughts of him could lead to trouble but deep down, she couldn’t deny the feeling of anticipation that stirred within her a feeling that told her this rivalry with Chris Sturniolo was far from over.
