As a multi-shipper, Ichiruki doesn't inherently bother me, but when some start promoting the idea that Ichigo and Rukia are being unfaithful to their spouses, it makes me angry. Write all the fanfics or make all the fanart you want, but they wouldn't do that to Orihime or Renji. And this idea that Orihime is somehow the least compatible with Ichigo just makes me shake my head in disappointment. Like, did you even read the manga?

Yeah, the infidelity shit is just a disgrace to these characters. I don’t know why anyone who calls themselves a fan of Rukia would want to twist her character into some wretched, horrible person who would cheat on their spouse (and to add insult to injury, cheat WITH the spouse of one of her closest friends…y’know….the girl she vowed to save while crawling through a puddle of her own blood) as if Rukia, who is fiercely loyal and caring, would ever do that lmao (and same goes for Ichigo). But I mean, I guess it just wasn’t enough for them to create an alternate ending for themselves….nope, gotta drag our “faves” through the mud, turn them into horrible, ooc people (while also still insisting the canon ending is the one that’s ooc?? lmao) and then romanticize infidelity, too! It all comes back to their hatred for IH and their desperate need to show Rukia as the more desirable option while humiliating Orihime in the process. They always dreamed of an ending where Orihime cried her eyes out while Ichigo and Rukia skipped off into the sunset together, and since Kubo gave them such a brutal smackdown in the end instead, writing cheating fics is all they’ve got.Basically what it all boils down to is this: anyone who supports adultery fanart/fics/whatever really just exposes how they prioritize their hatred for IH, over their love for IR. Simply put, they hate IH more than they love IR. Because….why is there even a need to drag IH through the mud by portraying it as some broken marriage? Why is that the priority here? Why not just….have Ichigo and Rukia only ever end up with each other and nobody else first?? Wouldn’t that…..be so much better??? lmao like why would you ever in a million years want your ship to get married and have children with other people first, choose other people instead of each other first, have the notp that you hate so much actually get together and get married and have sex and have children first—why the fuck would anyone ever want that? …Unless it’s because it was much more satisfying and important to you to take a cheap shot against that notp before your otp actually gets together. The happiness of their otp takes a backseat to the unhappiness of their notp. IR’s happiness is put behind IH’s unhappiness on a list of importance. And you really have to question how much they love their otp to begin with, if they think so low of them as individual characters to turn them into some cheating, backstabbing, Jerry Springer show guests lmao.

God, it’s so nice supporting the canon ship. We’re free of that nastiness on this side lol :)
