Axl and Jam are fighters in the game, but compared to the other characters, they have a backbone that gives them a sense of life. Since they are shipped together, I wanted to show them relaxing after a battle. I hope you can get a sense of the heartwarming atmosphere.
Illustration for The PlayStation 2 weekly magazine, January 11-18, 2002. Scan and caption from Artworks of Guilty Gear X 2000-2007 by Daisuke Ishiwatari.

Audio
Translation:
Radio Nova: Daft Punk, what could you interpret quickly here tonight on the second underfloor of the “Grand magasin”?
Thomas: I can do “Dictée magique” it’s not really a melody but…
Guy-Manuel: I’ll beatbox, you do the “Dictée magique”?
Thomas: I’m gonna say “Epelle Radio Nova” okay ?
Radio Nova: Okay [laughs]
Thomas: Okay, you do the rhythmic so?
[Magic]
Radio Nova: Thank you, Daft Punk. [laughs]
Both: Thanks
Radio Nova: You gonna call the light very loud.
Both: Liiiight!
Thomas: Liiiiiiiiight!
[Laughter]

I like the picture of Daft Punk with the folding fan.
(Maybe it’s a fan cosplay.🤔)

Here are some high-res scans of the interview with Kitsuné from Me Magazine, Autumn 2009. (This is the infamous interview that spawned the Guy-Man baguette thing.) You can download them in a zip file here.
[Fun note: The front of the magazine says: “Daftfont designed by Daft Punk and developed by Abake at Kitsuné.”]
