“The only time a year I don’t mind dishing out a light scare or two- Halloween! A ghost not spooking at least someone on Halloween is virtually unheard of ‘round where I’m from. Two days away... I ought to plan a couple out. Nothing big- just a light little surprise or two! I don’t go all out like a few ghosts like to do.”

“All these years of obscurity, and when I finally get a role in the remake they still didn’t name me- just because the original never did in the actual story. Only the bonus bloopers they animated. If they remake the third game, they better stick to the history that was established the first time round.”
#[General IC tag]#>I'm surprised they didn't properly name Orson like they did in the bloopers of Pac-Man World 1#>Prob because it was only a bloopers thing.

Things Muses Say when they’re not okay
“I’m okay.”
“Give me… give me a minute?”
“Yeah, I’m… I’m, um….”
“How many people already know?”
“It’s fine.”
“It doesn’t hurt.”
“Shit.”
“Don’t touch it!”
“Don’t touch me!”
“Why do you think I know you?”
“I don’t know.”
“Ow.”
“Can we just… be together for a while?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“How do people just – keep going?”
“I’m on top of it.”
“It isn’t a problem.”
“You don’t have any reason to worry.”
“I think I need help.”
“Will you [comforting action]?”
“I thought I could handle it on my own.”
“I was wrong.”
“It just happens sometimes.”

[ In Darkness Buried Deep | First Expedition Open ]
He may not be entirely sure about the expedition leader’s intentions, but the goal- to get back to the surface -is definitely clear. Besides, this was a good chance to help him prove he can actually be helpful!
“Alright, we should take stock of what we’ve got to build with- and figure out the best way to actually build.” Orson comments. “I can fly, but not for too long before I have to rest a bit- I could definitely help with getting lower support beams secured down. I could also carry someone across the gap if we need that done, too.”
#[Open]#[In Darkness Buried Deep verse]#>amusingly its also literally the first open for the first expedition

hey orson, even after all these years, how do you feel about pac-man? since he.. destroyed your toc-man robot.
[ Unprompted Asks | Always Accepting! ]
“First, I’d like the record to know that I actually agree with his decision to destroy the old mech suit. It was warranted given what I’d done, and I still regret that I did any of what I’d done back then.” With that disclaimer out of the way, Orson continues to answer the actual question. “Because of what I’ve done in the past, Pacman and I don’t really trust each other, per se. We can cooperate if the need arises, such as when we dealt with Erwin, but outside of situations where cooperation is needed, there’s really not much trust.”
“If I’m being honest, though... I still have some of those feelings of jealousy that drew me to do what I did in the first place. I still deal with the fact that not many living folks will like ghosts. That doesn’t matter now, though, as Ghosts have our own close-knit community.”

Anemone for botanical asks
[ Botanical Headcanon Questions | Accepting ]
anemone : how does your muse view the world ; as a cruel & unforgiving place , a land full of wonders , or something in - between ? where does that world view come from ( what experiences , life lessons , etc . ) ?
Orson sees it as a mix of the two; it can be cruel and unforgiving, but it can also be full of wonder and adventure. His own villainous plot actually helped him see both sides- the beginning of it, the jealousy and resentment over how Ghosts were treated -showing him the cruel and unforgiving side of the world...
...but a post-reformed Orson got to see the community Ghosts had when they weren’t under some villain’s iron fist(Actually, it was a titanium alloy, but it’s the metaphor that matters). Orson learned how tight-knit Ghost society was, how they worked together to improve the quality of afterlife for everyone. He got to become a part of that, because what ghost hasn’t harbored resentful thoughts over mistreatment by the living?
They gave Orson a second chance- to prove he could be less villainous and more part of the bigger community. It’s a chance he’s grateful for every day, and does his best to not waste. He continues to prove that unlike ghost villains like Golvis and Spooky, he can actually change and stick to the non-villain path.

Headcanon time: Orson and ghostly abilities!
By ghost standards, Orson would be considered disabled.
Orson has spent enough of his afterlife in the physical realm back home that he lacks a ghostly glow; and also lacks the proper ability to perform his ghostly powers. Orson's time in the physical realm has resulted in a weaker link to the Spectral Realm, which is the home of Ghosts and where they get their energy from. Most ghosts visit very often(More than once a week) or even live in the realm full time. Orson, however, rarely visits(Less than once a month).
This results in him struggling with flight, spooky noises that are more elaborate, and phasing through things.
He can still float and hover a foot off the ground as is standard height for ghost floating, as that runs off of ghostly instinct alone. Where most ghosts don't really have to think too much about it when flying higher than that, Orson has to focus more on flight- and it uses up his energy a lot faster than an average ghost.
Similar situation with phasing through objects- most ghosts don't have to think about it, but Orson has to really focus to do it.
& same for elaborate spooky noises.
He can still pull off a good scare as the structure of a scare is something that can be remembered and memorized, and silent movement is just a side effect of being a semi-solid ectoplasmic floating entity.
Even if Orson suddenly decided to live in the Spectral Realm full time again, he wouldn’t regain the normal level of ability or his old ghostly glow- it’s a side effect of spending the vast majority of his afterlife on the surface.

dcibaker:
“Yup! It’s a spicy tea, a tad fruity for a nice, flavorful blend. Several herbs are used, like the peppercherry and I put a lil’ bit of brisk berry. Adding in joy root clover helps balance the flavor immensely!”
Lucy tips her beret, grinning. “Now then, are yah interested in tryin’ the Baker Mix?”
“It certainly sounds interesting!” He honestly hadn’t heard of the mentioned herbs, but then again cooking was not his forte. “I’d be interested in trying it if you don’t mind making some.”

“Gee! I’m in a bit of a predicament! Poor Prof, he’s gonna have t’ learn how to brew my tea recipe on his own…”
“You’ve got your own tea recipe? Is it a combination of tea bags or loose-leaf tea, or a specific herb or plant?”
