Oh, did you hear me talking about how Hannah Montana is one of the best singers of our generation? Kidding, but yes, I probably was talking about Montana. It's where I'm from originally. Ah, so you went to Montana State University? How did you enjoy it?
This might sound a little left field, but I overheard you talking to someone at the Gala, and thought I heard you mention Montana...? I didn't want to be rude and interrupt. But I actually went to Montana State University way back when. @georgiewhitmcre

Georgie took a moment to let his words sink in, knowing that the older man had a point. Sure, she could break out into a Whitney Houston song but there were always at least one person watching. "I mean, that would be a cool way to end up on the news, but. I don't know if I'd want that to happen. I know the kids that I teach would be all over me about it. Some kids can be really mean with their teasing!" But that usually didn't bother her as she knew that kids that age really had no filter. It was nice that they still said things that were on their mind instead of keeping it in. "I'll keep that in mind," Georgie commented back at his offer. She could use someone who knew what they were doing to come along with her to the archery club. Nodding her head, she let out a soft laugh. "I'd like to think so. That'd be bad if we accidentally caused an accident from forgetting how to work the bow." Though, she was sure that the situation she was talking about would be slim to none. "Oh! Merida is the one you're thinking of. Pretty sure she's Scottish. She's actually one of the inspirations for this look I'm wearing tonight. I've always loved her story."
"That depends," he answered nonchalantly, lazy smile sliding across his face from where he was lounging. "You might get away with no one else seeing it happening in the store, as in… no customers browsing nearby, no one staring at you from the end of the aisle. But the management? Are going to play that security tape back for absolutely everyone that they know. You may even go viral." But there were probably worse things that a person could go viral for, too. Girl dancing in almost empty grocery store still seemed sort of wholesome, cute, the kind of thing people shared as a feel good video. "You should, let me know if you want company sometime. I haven't shot in a while, but I think it's sort of like riding a bike, right?" Get back to it and everything came rushing back, regardless of how long it had been, how out of practice you were. "I was going to say that red-headed wild haired girl from Disney, think she's a princess. The uh… European one. Irish? Scottish?"

"You're welcome! I love how everyone managed to look very on point tonight," Georgie smiled with a nod of her head. "And thank you, as well! I can't believe I even found this dress. I wasn't sure what kind of look I wanted to go for, but I'm glad it all worked out." Though, she was sure it would be hard to not find anything that matched the night's theme. It was lucky that the theme was broad in its interpretation. "I'm having a marvelous time. I've had a few drinks and I've ate a few cupcakes, so I think I'm on a roll. How about you? Has the gala exceeded your expecations?"
Aisha needed a bit of a break from all the happenings of the night. While she was having a good time, dancing and making small talk over drinks, she decided to just people-watch for a bit. Finding a less-crowded spot, she took a glance around the room. She hadn't been alone for long, seeing the familiar face of one of her friends as she approached her. A bright smile came to her face. "Aw, thank you! I love your look as well, your dress is everything." her smile was still on her face, and she glanced at Georgie's outfit. "So how are you enjoying the evening so far?"

Georgie hoped to slip behind something tall and chunky, toying with being out of the other's direct line of sight as she tried to move away. Though, nothing was big enough to hide her completely, from eyes anyway. She could smell the beginnings of a newly lit cigarette as she stopped in her tracks at the sound of the man's voice. Even though he offered her to stay, she didn't want him to feel obligated to invite her over. On one hand, Georgie wanted to get out into the peace and quiet but she had enough curiosity in her to accept his offer. Georgie thought over her options, quickly laying her eyes on the other as she turned to face him. The stranger seemed nice enough that she could manage to keep him company instead of going elsewhere. Plus, she knew that she had some kind of protection with her in case he turned out to be an axe murderer.
"Okay," Georgie called out before moving across some broken branches that were scattered underneath her feet. Quickly, she made her way over to him, stopping to lean in front of a tree and turning to him. "So, what brings you away from the party?" she mused out, eyes observing the other. "Did you need some time to recharge as well?"
It was quiet, off along the outskirts of the party. People lingered alone, in small groups, striding along paths near the chapel. Garrick indulged in the silence, if only for a few minutes. Blood pumping with liquor, whiskey on his tongue, his hands moved on their own volition to fish out a lighter and a cigarette. An incessant habit made nearly irresistible around the proximity of alcohol. Willpower nonexistent with the few packs of Newports tucked in drawers around his home, and in the back right pocket of his dress pants. The lighter sparked, producing a flame just strong enough to singe the end of his cigarette. His eyes fell shut. Nicotine and tobacco burned his throat, his lungs—the smoke curling down deep into his chest before he released it all with a long exhale.
Twigs snapped to his back. Ginger steps pressing down on loose branches and brush. Garrick glanced over his shoulder, expecting to see a small animal scurrying to a tree. But there was no squirrel or rabbit to be found. Instead, a young woman stood a little ways away. Her eyebrows were raised, face screwed up in mild shock, and she started to inch away.
“Hey,” he called out to her, reaching out a hand to stop her. “You don’t have to run away. The spot’s not taken. Plenty of woods to share, and all.”

“You know me so well,” Georgie shot back with a wide grin. “If there’s ever a time where I don’t agree to having something sweet then assume I’ve been possessed.” Georgie had a sweet tooth at heart. She was never one who could deny a good treat. Georgie nodded her head as she listened to Livvy, remembering the cupcakes that were being mentioned. “Oh, I’ve seen those! You can never go wrong with cupcakes. But the chocolate cake sounds delicious as well. I feel like I might need to sample everything, in the name of science.” Georgie followed the other, thinking about what she wanted to eat as they both padded across the gala to the desserts. “Yeah! Like, he was flirting with me and then he mentioned that he could probably bench press me. And then he tried to lift me up before I threatened him with my arrows. Then he got quiet.”
"Somehow I knew that you wouldn't turn me down," she beamed. Maybe just because Georgie was exactly the kind of person who knew how to sate a sweet tooth, wasn't going to run away from a gigantic cupcake just begging to be eaten. And if there was gossip that she needed to be caught up on, that made it even more of an important situation. "My brother and I were snacking on cupcakes earlier, and I can confirm. Delicious. But there was a giant slab of chocolate cake with peanut butter icing that had my name on it." Figuratively, but. She led Georgie in that direction before widening her eyes at what she was saying. "Literally like… physically lifting you?"

There were very few times Georgie had seen Tommy without a grimace on his face, and she was counting down the seconds until she would see that expression make its way onto his features. In a way, Tommy reminded her of a grumpy old cat and she didn't know what made him that way. But she also wasn't in the business of pressing that subject too hard, so she usually let it go. Eyebrows perked up at his words, "those are wise words coming from you." Georgie's gaze moved from his face to his hands, watching to where he was pointing. It seemed like he wanted in on the crab cakes. "I'll pass one to you. Only if you use your manners," she spoke with a smirk on her face. "What's the magic word?"
Tommy fels a waved of announce hit him at the sound of a sadly all too familiar voice answer him. Slowly, he looks to his side, hoping it was just a figment of his imagination, but there she stood, little miss sunshine. "We don't think about the limits of our stomach before we eat, why make something so enjoyable by already predicting it's end?" Tommy would not let her ruin this for him, he looks back at the table in front of them, a moment passes before he points to where crab cakes sat, unfortunately right in front of her "pass me one will you."

Was this sweet or dry wine? That question rang in her ears as she heard the other ask it, not really knowing what it was. Georgie was too excited about getting to drink fancier wine that she completely missed what kind of wine it was. "Uh, I don't know actually. I'm going to say sweet, though. It tastes very sweet," she spoke, feeling a bit out of her element. "But I don't hate it. It's actually pretty good. Better than the regular Barefoot wine I get." A smile moved up on her lips as she saw the wink and a laugh spilled from her throat at the other's last sentence. "I agree! What kind of alcohol suits you? If I'm honest, I'm usually a girl that drinks a can of beer. Or wine that's from the convenience store."
Aleja turned to look at the other woman, offering a small laugh. She knew her way around wines, mostly to know what was to her taste and then to drink that at events. "It is very nice on the taste buds. Is it a sweet or a dry wine?" she asked, curiously. "And do you wish you were drinking something else?" she asked the next question with a wink. "Life is too short to drink alcohol that doesn't suit you."

A cheeky grin crossed Georgie's face as she nodded her head at Jayla's question. "I'm glad to hear it! And I am enjoying myself, too. There's something so magical about being able to pretend you're in some kind of fantasy novel or film." Georgie loved how it made her feel like a child again, getting to pretend like she was playing dress up like she used to do when she was younger. "I've gotta say, you look pretty great too. What was your inspiration? I think the color looks so wonderful on you!"
Jayla was thoroughly enjoying the gala, thus far. Contrary to popular belief, she loved dressing up. To feel like a fairy princess in an enchanted forest? Even better! She lit up with excitement upon seeing Georgie. "I'm having so much fun! It is definitely at the top right now! How about you? Are you enjoying yourself?"

The gala was full of people mingling, buzzing with conversation, and Georgie felt like she needed some space so she could gather her thoughts. As much as she loved socializing and getting the 4-1-1 from everyone, sometimes she just needed to slow things down. Georgie stepped away from the group she was in, breathing in the fresh air of the night as she made her way into the woods. The atmosphere was much more peaceful than it was with the crowd. Not paying much attention to her surroundings, Georgie almost ran into someone else, immediately stopping herself before they made contact. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there."
Who: Emeline & open!
Where: The Little Chapel
What: Enchanted Forest Gala
The soft crunch of gravel under Emeline's heels leading away from The Little Chapel, the slightest soft breeze cooling the tiniest bit of sheen of sweat that had developed from being inside the building with a bunch of people. While her brother and his crew had worked on the building, and she was sure the air conditioning was up and working, putting a bunch of people in there oohing and ahhing in a small place meant the temperature rose far higher than she'd be comfortable with. Which lead the blonde to start her little adventure outward away from the tiny chapel, people milling around outside, talking, dancing, eating. A fluted champagne bottle still firmly in her hands as she brushed a fallen piece of hair behind her ear taking in the scene around her as she started venturing a little farther in towards the wooded areas. @merrock

"So, if I go to the store tomorrow to do my weekly shopping, do you think I could get away with doing a whole musical dance number with no one around?" she asked with amusement seeping into her voice, knowing that someone would at least catch her in the act. For some reason, Georgie always had that fantasy kept in the back of her mind. Perhaps it was because she always watched musicals when she was younger. One of her brows perked up when Cage mentioned the archery club that was in town. She heard of it before, though she never found herself finding time to head over to it. "I'll have to make my way over there sometime! I think it would be a good start to get back into it." Maybe she could invite her sister or brother to do it, too. A family bonding session. "Ooh, nice. I enjoy shooting targets the most. Trying to get my arrow right in the center of the target is always a good feeling. Makes me feel like I'm Katniss Everdeen."
"On the plus side, if you need to go do your grocery shopping, the stores will probably be empty," he shrugged both shoulders. The day after big events, it seemed to Cage that everyone always wanted to take it easy. Lazy days at home, dinners ordered in, and he couldn't blame them. He had a feeling that he'd have his feet propped up on the coffee table, plate full of pizza next to him while his son entertained his girlfriend's daughter, said girlfriend curled up next to him. He pulled his thoughts from the day after the to the present, tilting his head with interest as she talked about knowing how to shoot, admittedly pretty impressed. "You should check out the archery club here in town. It's pretty nice, mostly parents teaching their kids, not an unruly crowd." He liked it, had learned from his dad, and then had taught his own son. "I do. Bow and arrow, rifle, mostly hunting season, like you. Sometimes target shooting at the club."

Between dancing around in her dress and sipping down drinks from the bar, Georgie found herself needing to recharge a bit. She felt like some of her energy was waning down as the evening went on, and she didn't want to go home early because she was too wiped out. She stumbled down a beaten path that was behind the chapel, trailing off to wherever it would take her. It didn't take long before she came across someone who looked to be having the same idea. Not wanting to invade on their privacy, Georgie began to head back in another direction.

Georgie scanned the gala as she took a second to gather her thoughts, needing to step back from all of the commotion that was happening. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a green tulle gown that was dotted with flowers, her attention solely on the garment. When she looked to see who was wearing it, she wasn't surprised as she had come to learn that Aisha had immaculate taste when it came to style. Walking up to her, Georgie let out a tiny squeal. "You genuinely look like something from a dream! You look so good."

Georgie's head spun around as she heard the voice of Livvy, her face instantly lighting up with a smile as she welcomed her friend. Livvy looked every bit like something right out of a fairytale book. "You had me at something sweet! I'm always down for something to gnaw on. Plus, I hear they have a really good selection of sweets to choose from," she nodded with a smile. "And besides, I think it would be nice to go somewhere more calm. I've been dying to tell you about the guy from the bar. I think he tried to pick me up. Literally."
WHO: Livvy & @georgiewhitmcre
WHERE: Enchanted Forest Gala
WHEN: July 22, 2023
"There you are!" Livvy nearly bounced over to her friend, a bright smile crossing her face. Not that Georgie was too hard to find, in that gorgeous dress, looking like she had walked right out of a Disney fairy tale. Which wasn't really too far out of the normal, if anyone asked Livvy. "I was just thinking I needed to take a load off from dancing, do you want to grab something way, way too sweet and go sit inside and watch some of the movie clips? We can gossip about outfits and giggle about everything else."

If there is food, Georgie is right there by it. No matter the occasion, you can mostly find her hovering around the area that is serving food. Getting her fix every so often. It seemed like she came at the perfect time when she saw some servers laying out more delicious food for her to take. Her eyes were widening with every look as she licked her lips at what she wanted to grab first. A familiar voice caught her attention before she could think any further. "Me either, honestly. I feel like sampling everything. However, I don't think I could fit all of it into my stomach."

It was only a matter of time before Tommy navigated his way to where the food was spread out for the guests attending the gala. It was a dangerous act to leave Tommy unsupervised with a plate in his hand. His mouth practically hangs open as more fresh goodies are laid out before him. In his rush to meet Marlow he'd had no time to eat. "I don't know where to start," he says to himself, unaware he was not alone.

Georgie would admit that it was nice seeing Cage in something other than casual wear. In all honesty, she couldn't remember a time where she saw him without some kind of brown boots or a flannel on. Unless they were, of course, at some kind of formal event. "No, you're right. I imagine half of the people here will be taking a good self-care day tomorrow." But all of the dressing up was worth it, or at least for Georgie, it was. Georgie pulled up the quiver from her side to her front when she heard him mention it. "I do! Something I learned to do back in Montana when it was hunting season. Though, I haven't done it in ages," she spoke with a nod before she snorted at Cage's remarks regarding the troll getup. "Perhaps they wanted to get on the news or something," she spoke with a shake of her head. Her interest was still pinpointed on his earlier question. "Do you shoot?"
Cage was far from glamorous when he was living in the 'real world.' He was the kind of guy in jeans and a t-shirt, wearing work boots and covered in saw dust. But maybe that did make it a little more exciting when he got to step out of his comfort zone and do something a little outside the box. "I won't lie and say I'm not looking forward to changing into pajama pants and a t-shirt when I get home, but this is good for now," he laughed. "What about you, I see you're carrying around that quiver, do you know how to shoot?" Following her gaze across the grounds to the troll-person, he couldn't help the way his brows shot up, equal parts impressed and also maybe just the littlest bit horrified. "I can't imagine that would be comfortable to wear all night, either."

If she were being honest, Georgie wasn't very much of a wine connoisseur. Hell, she usually bought her wine from the gas station. So whenever there was wine covered with any event, it was something she always gravitated towards. Georgie was leaning against the side of the bar, sipping on something fruity. "This wine's pretty flavorful, yeah?" she spoke aloud, looking at the nearest person in her vicinity. "It's very... nice on the taste buds."

It was at events like these where Georgie felt like she could truly let loose. Rather than worrying about kids seeing her out of the classroom or wondering what parents were thinking about her, Georgie thought of nothing else but having fun. And besides, she didn't need to worry about any of that until school started back up in late August. Bopping her head to the song the band was playing, her eyes caught another's. "Are you having a good time tonight?" she asked, a smile forming on her lips. "I think the is the best gala yet."
