the way i hate the lok comics and how they were like hey the rest of kuvira’s army is not jailed???? somehow???? and somehow bolin is not in jail despite being a part of her team for a long time. his idealism and naivety doesn’t excuse the shit that was done in the name of the earth empire.  they had concentration camps and yet they gloss over the other side of what was happening, we see korra’s recovery and the krew getting back together to end kuvira but what about the rest of the people. just because he’s friends with the avatar and left the army because he finally realized the extent of kuvira’s craze for power doesn’t mean he wasn’t part of it.  bolin should’ve been jailed at least for custody and then let out, he should’ve served time for being an idiot kdjfkjsdfjk.  ALSO! bolin becoming a cop and then assistant to the president is so fucking dumb-- BOLIN. B O L I N in an office job!! bo l i n, an actor and a probender in an office job lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i still wonder how they keep pulling these ideas out of their asses and thinking people won’t see major problems. i still can’t believe i had to deal with the comics just to get some icons out of bolin --- i wish i did not see.

There’s no way I’m gonna drop you.” Her enthusiasm softens around the edges like melted butter a moment, though, and she does allow him a reprieve of her insistence. “If you don’t wanna go, you don’t have to! But I can guarantee it would be fine. It’s the best way to get a tour of the whole island.”

bolin focused on korra’s arms as she spoke, he knew she was strong-- in fact, he was certain that, even if she could only bend one element, she could beat him up when it came to hand-on-hand combat, but even then, she had never carried him around and, out of the team, he was the heaviest one. he peaked over to check the distance between where they stood and the ground, a bit too high for comfort. in all honesty, by now he should be used to it-- the flying bison, the elevated heights, after all, he was dating an airbender and his best friend also resided in the air temple, but, somehow his affinity to earth was stronger.  “korra, why do we have to get a tour of the island exactly?” he mumbled, his fingers fidgeting, “i mean, i could jump with you and we could fly but i can’t promise i won’t scream all the way until we’re safe and sound.” he did his best to sound as if he were joking, but he had never meant something as much as this. “i don’t think it’s fair to the island to see me in such state.”

        he chuckled nervously, he didn’t want to upset the other but how could he keep it to          himself? he was well aware mako was quite evasive when it came to change, whether         it came to something as banal as clothes, to his day-to-day life.                     “are you sure she knew that?                       or did you just assume that, because it wasn’t your style, it was a gag gift?                      she’s pretty stylish, why would she spend money in something just for the laughs?”

if you’re familiar with bolin, or any earthbender at all, it would be obvious that the ground is quite a safe space for them; so jumping into an abyss didn’t sound too appealing to him. bolin mimicked her laugh although his was coated with anxiety and nervousness-- he didn’t doubt korra would save him, he could trust her with her life, it was the fact that something COULD go wrong that scared him. “opal takes me with her sometimes, but only for like two minutes” he chuckled and scratched the back of his neck, “she says i’m too heavy to be carried around.”

         bolin put his hands on the older male’s shoulders, shaking his head. it would be kind          of  idiotic to burn a perfectly fine piece of clothing just because mako felt (and looked)          ridiculous.                       “mako, you wear the same clothes every day. why not give this another chance?                       you don’t look as uptight when you wear something that’s not somber-looking.”
