The artworks I used to make this composition are "A Slave Auction," Edmund Ollier, Cassell's History of the United States (London, 1874-77 Vol.3, p. 199) and James Barry The Phoenix or the Resurrection of Freedom 1776–1808. The premise of this work is the opposing history and ideologies of liberty and freedom in the United States of America.

I wanted this work to embodied elements of the sacred feminin in regards to emelemts in the original object I used. So I added clouds to highen atributions to the moon and plants as attributes to nature. Both symbols that have been associated to the sacred feminine. The more I look at it the more it kinda reminds me of a madona, I think it would’ve been cool if I added a blue semi transparent fabric framning the cream fabric so that it echoes the Virgin Mary. In retrospect I would have also liked to add crystals, maybe moonstones, and candles to further explore my theme.

Paintings are usually put in very particular places, mainly walls. So anywhere else seems out of place.

Grasscore 🌾
The suffix -core has to do with creating sub genres, though the use of said suffix has been overused to the point where it became a meme. Thus anything can be a sub genre even something as silly as beetlecore or nightcore etc. Core also has to do with centers and essencees so whatever I perceived to be the essence of the color swatch is what I named it.
