her birth name is actually genevieve lee torres. torres is her dad’s last name, her mom is a rivera. her mom was only 17 when she was born and her dad was 22

her family life sucked when she was little bc her dad was an alcoholic and her parents fought a lot. they got married when she was a toddler, mostly because her moms family wanted them to keep up appearances

gen went to boarding school starting when she was only 6, which might have been for the best bc her home life was awful

gen is definitely not the master manipulator her cousin is, and is actually really bad at making friends so she never really had friends at school

her parents got divorced when she was 9 and her mom got remarried when she was 11. gen’s dad didn’t really try to be in her life much at all until her mom got remarried and he saw gen’s stepdad actually try to spend time with her. 

this really only led to lengthy custody battles, where gen was treated more like an object than a person and each of her individual parents coached her on all the reasons she shouldn’t want to be with the other parent, and what she should tell the judge when they got called in for hearings.

when gen was 13, her mother pulled her from boarding school in an attempt to present a stronger “family” dynamic to the family court. gen actually really liked living with her mom, step dad and step brother and she felt a lot happier there than she did at boarding school.

gen’s step brother was 17 and even though they didn’t grow up together, they became really close and really started to view each other as siblings, and he was very protective of gen

gen really took an interest in her brother and his friends, often following them around the house, a habit her brother humored most of the time. after a while, her brother’s best friend seemingly took a similar interest in her, often stepping away from his friends and finding her where she was in the house to talk to her alone.

i’m not gonna get into the details of this yikes relationship but you and i both know this guy was a creep and this is a big yikes

this started a long string of bad relationships, here they are: she dated a guy for three years during high school who physically abused her, after that she was in college and she had a couple inappropriate hookups including but not limited to: a professor at her college, her boss at a job she worked, and other girls’ boyfriends. 

also when gen was 15 her step dad officially adopted her and she took on his last name (samuels) in an attempt to further separate herself from her bio dad

anyway back to college. she weirdly became friends with bryce mathews during college and when his older brother jackson was in town she slept with him and got pregnant and she never told him but she did tell bryce and will

will is basically her best and one of her only friends and she’s super in love with him which is sad bc hes highkey oblivious

her daughter, gabriela rivera, is two.
