My doctor and therapist: now with this autism + ADHD diagnosis you need to learn to unmask because masking all the time will make you burn out again and feel like shit
Other people: well it's just interesting how after getting the diagnosis you suddenly start behaving like that I mean I'm not saying you're faking it's just funny how you suddenly cannot be normal like you were before

Yo, when are people gonna actually start acknowledging that Autism causes social and communication deficits?????? Like, Autistic people have massive difficulties in social ability and communication. Way too many people, particularly other Autistic people, get really upset at Autistic people for not having good social skills, and like????????????????? Yeah??????? Autism is a social deficit????????
I've consistantly seen people complaining about Autistic people not learning proper social skills, like being able to pick up on social cues, and being able to do small talk. Like, I'm sorry, but I literally have a disability that means that I can't learn how to do that??????
You cannot just assume that I haven't tried to learn how to do that just because I'm bad at it, I have a social disorder, I'm just bad at it, no matter how hard I've tried to learn social skills (and trust me, I have).
A part of Autism being a social deficit isn't just that picking up social skills intuitively is harder, but learning social skills is also much harder. While some Autistic people can learn social skills if they put the work into it, most can't.

Your friends and family with chronic pain aren't doing well.
Yes, even the ones that say they are.
Yes, especially the ones that are complaining and lashing out already.
Chances are high that however bad they will admit things are it's actually worse. By a lot.
We're conditioned to be "okay". If we're breaking down at non scheduled times we aren't coping well. I promise.
Your sibling/partner/bestie/parent who is breaking down without preamble on a Tuesday is suffering. Be kind. We're sorry.

Being chronically ill is like
“It’s fine”
“It’s fine”
“It’s fine”
*complete mental breakdown because you can’t do this anymore*
“It’s fine”

Something I think people who don’t live with chronic illness don’t understand is that there is a big difference between resting to get better and resting to avoid getting worse.
