Contaminant: Flesh Corrupted
2 posts
I am General Greasy, the creator of the Contaminant: Flesh Corrupted. I have high ambitions for this project, and hopefully you'll join me as this grows and evolves into something bigger. Most of the items in my gallery will be Contaminant related, however I will occasionally post non-Contaminant related art.

Sex: Female Species: Mutant salamander Location of origin: Ashdowne, Pennsylvania Date encountered: June 15th, 1976 Total height: 11 meters (36.8ft) Total mass: 200 metric tons Threat level: Very high Aggression level: Very high Known mutations: - Prehensile tongue coated in a sticky substance - Immense strength - Extreme cellular regeneration. Can regenerate entire limbs and even half of it's head being destroyed - Corrosive saliva - Can regurgitate a stream of digestive acid History: After several hours of searching, the party dispatched to hunt down the monster managed to track the creature back to it's lair inside an abandoned warehouse by the town's waterfront. However instead of a monster, they found a massive fleshy cocoon. Dynamite was placed around the cocoon to destroy it before whatever was inside could emerge. As final preparations to destroy the cocoon and the warehouse where being made, the fleshy mass began to move, and something enormous could be seen stirring within. Plans where accelerated and the warehouse was destroyed from a safe distance, presumably destroying the cocoon as well. However before congratulations could go around, a horrifying shriek filled the air as the burning wreckage of the warehouse began to shift and rise. Rising from the ashes of it's lair, the horrible beast reared it's ugly head once more- now much bigger than before and it's body even more twisted and mutated. Slabs of the fleshy cocoon sloughed off of it's gnarled body as it lurched forward, it's legs still adjusting to standing upright. The display was reminiscent of a newborn fawn struggling to take it's first steps. The beast immediately lunged at the party, but collapsed from it's own clumsiness. Believing themselves to be lucky, the humans dropped their equipment as ran, but one by one they were seized by the monster's long tongue and devoured, some still kicking and screaming as they disappeared down it's throat. Getting back on it's feet, the aberration howled at the night sky flickering with embers from the burning warehouse as it set off into the unsuspecting town. The homes and neighborhoods on the outskirts of the small country town where the first to get raided by the beast; entire families devoured in their sleep in vain attempts to satiate it's ravenous hunger. Next where the stores and local businesses that made up the downtown part of Oak Falls. By now panic had set in and people fled for their lives as the monstrosity rampaged through town, consuming anyone in it's path. The beast stopped for a moment to feed on the contents of an overturned deli truck as the national guard arrived to deal with the situation. M16 rifles clattered and bazookas roared as thousands of rounds of ammunition impacted against the creature's rubbery hide with little effect. Interrupted by these newcomers, the abomination retaliated by regurgitating a stream of rust-colored acid all over the valiant troops. Screams of agony where accompanied by sizzling skin and the sickening sound of liquified flesh dripping to the ground. The horrific sight was over in moments, and all that remained where bloodied bones still covered in partially dissolved flesh. Not even the men's helmets and rifles remained, both dissolved away into unrecognizable chunks of metal stained in the vile rust-color of the acid. One of the drivers of the transport trucks panicked and floored the gas on his vehicle, driving straight into the monster's leg and knocking it off balance. The monster shrieked and fell into the side of a building which easily crumbled under the beast's mass. The monstrosity got back on it's feet, but not before the driver tossed his live grenade belt into the creature's mouth. The grenades detonated and a wet explosion of flesh and bone fragments rained from the sky. Just as soon as the damage was inflicted however, the beast's flesh began to bubble and expand: bone rapidly regrew, skin and muscle stretched and expanded to cover the grievous wound until the damage was fully repaired. It seemed as though this creature was totally unstoppable. Not even a grenade cluster destroying half of it's head could put this monster down for good. The monster continued it's rampage until another plan was developed on-the-fly to hopefully kill the beast once and for all. The beast was to be lead to the town's quarry where demolition charges would cause the monster to fall into the quarry and further charges would bring several thousands of tons of rock down upon the creature in case the fall failed to kill it. The impromptu plan was put in motion, but quickly ran into issues when the creature arrived sooner than expected and thus all the charges could not be placed in time. Trapped in the quarry with the monster, all hope seemed lost for the townsfolk until one brave man -who was a former worker at the Ashdowne plant- loaded a truck full of the charges and drove straight for the monster at full speed. At the last second he leapt from the speeding truck and allowed it to smash into the beast and push it over the edge and into the mouth of the quarry. Both the truck and the monster hit the ground with an enormous thud. Without wasting another second, the man detonated the charges in the back of the truck just as the beast was about to get back up. The sheer amount of explosive power was enough to nearly tear the creature apart; and before it's regeneration could kick in, the explosives did their job and destabilized the entire wall of the quarry. Huge boulders tumbled down and crushed the regenerating monster, each producing a sickening crunch. The beast uttered one final shriek of anguish before being drowned out by the sound of the rockslide. After several moments, the rockslide had finally ceased and the townsfolk cautiously looked over the edge to see if the deed was done. To their relief, a huge mound of stone covered half of the quarry floor; dark red blood pooled out from the stones. After several more moments, it seemed as though the beast had finally been put down for good. Soon after the beast was killed, several military vehicles arrived at the quarry to secure the site and "dispose" of the carcass. However once the townsfolk where removed from the area, attempts began to dig the creature's body out and ship it's remains to an unknown facility called "Black Mountain" for study... Addendum: A week after the beast was killed by the locals, a US Army taskforce was deployed to the remains of Ashdown, Pennsylvania to preform a search and destroy operation after autopsy results indicated that the creature killed in the Oak Falls quarry was female and may have laid eggs. Several egg clusters where indeed located by the task force and destroyed, however about sixteen of them had hatched before the task force had arrived and thus prompted a broader search for the beast's offspring. A total of twelve adolescent and infant mutants where tracked down and killed in and around the exclusion zone set up around Ashdowne. An estimated four more have been unable to be located and are presumed to be still at large...

Sex: Female Species: Mutant salamander Location of origin: Ashdowne, Pennsylvania Date encountered: June 15th, 1976 Total length: 12 meters (39.37ft) Total height: 2.9 meters (9.5ft) Total mass: 97.8 metric tons Threat level: High Aggression level: Very High Known mutations: - Prehensile tongue coated in a sticky substance - Immense strength - Capable of quick bursts of speed on land despite it's size - Adept swimmer. Able to outrun most civilian vessels - Corrosive saliva History: First recorded example of large-scale mutations following the explosion and subsequent abandonment of the Ashdowne Nebranium power plant in 1966. Most likely began life as a species of Salamander living in or around the large lake used for cooling water by the plant. The creature most likely developed a taste for human flesh by feeding on corpses of scavengers who often are reported missing attempting to plunder the abandoned plant and surrounding town. Eventually growing to such a size where what little life remained in the lake could no longer offer it sustenance, the creature left the lake and traveled roughly 2 miles south and entered the Weyland River until arriving at the neighboring town of Oak Falls. From there it established a nest within an abandoned warehouse by the waterfront where it could slip in and out unnoticed. The creature immediately began feeding on unwary swimmers, fishermen and small animals for over 2 weeks before being discovered. Local authorities and townsfolk organized an effort to lure the creature into a trap and kill it with a police precinct's worth of firepower. The trap was sprung, however loud activity by beachgoers further down the river diverted the creature's attention and several civilians where killed or wounded in the ensuing feeding frenzy. Eventually the authorities and townsfolk involved with the operation finally managed to open fire on the creature. At first, bullets and explosives seemed to do little more than to irritate the creature, however sustained fire began to inflict serious wounds on the animal which promptly retreated back into the water, leaving a trail of blood as it went. Later that evening a smaller party tracked the creature back to it's warehouse lair after hours of searching. Instead of finding the creature however, they found an enormous, fleshy cocoon...
