          “ Wh- I, the only thing I’ve burned is a marshmallow in my chemistry class! ”

   There was a hiss in pain as a few of the droplets made contact, but when the sensation of burning hadn’t cascaded over her entire body, eyes opened slowly, the ruffles in her dress and the large mass of pink hair throwing her back in surprise. It took her a few moments to realize what had really happened before she pounced from her seat with brows furrowed in concern.

          “ Yes, I’m perfectly fine; I-I’m so sorry, are you alright?  ”

   Her own apologies tie in with the waiter who’d spilled the drink in the first place, though hers stop much in advance.     “ You... You’re the picture hanging in Steven’s house- you’re his mom.  ”

It was so sudden that Rose didn’t have any time to think- with a waiter not noticing her and ready to spill hot beverages over the young girl, the gem woman easily rushed to her side, allowing the hot content to spill on herself. There were gasps and apologizes– and seemingly mild confusion as the dark coffee didn’t even really stain her beautiful white dress (or burn her, for that fact) but instead, cascaded down it and onto the floor. 

Knowing the other was safe, she turned to face the girl and squatted a little, tucking her dress behind her and smiling, ignoring all else.

“I’m glad I was able to get to you! Are you alright?”

          “ I-I came in through the front door! ”     --- Flustered, she stumbled back with luggage bolting with her before she gives her a once over. Wait.

          “ Aren’t you from Homeworld? Why are you in Pearl’s house? Don’t you guys eat each other inside death matches in cages or something? ”     --- Maybe that was more something that would occur in the vein of Mad Max..

“Gah!”

A human had made its way into Pearl’s house! Maybe a window had been left open or something. Well, good thing this Pearl was here. She could get rid of it. Pearl carefully approached the human and prodded it with her favorite stick.

“Get! Get! Shoo! Back out the window!”

          “ Hey Pearl,  ”     --- Through tangled hair, fingers scratch at the side of her head awkwardly while her initially meek voice peeps a bit louder as the bustle of the party grows ; even if she was only gone for a short while, her sudden reappearance makes her feel a bit awkward.     “ I’m sorry for making you clean up the mess in my room when I left. ”
