I've made this chocolate cake before and if you're a fan of chocolate, it never misses.

Wait you guys should know this cake was a product of 50% I wanted to make this forever and had lots of fresh blackberries and 50% spite because I am petty.

#so the rainbow cake a month ago was to celebrate two out of the FIVE June birthdays in the office #and one of them is my boss's boss #who's so chill about this stuff honestly #but the other is the person that has quickly become the 2nd most hated on my team #and she made a petty comment about needing to bring in her own cake #which thankfully I didn't hear cause I would have cut her #but I did hear two weeks later when she said we shouldn't have any cakes in July because we'd had so many cakes for birthdays #like bitch which is it #so here we are #first day of July with a cake #and it was delicious #so I feel justified in my pettiness #at least when I'm spiteful there's cake #she's just mean for no reason

First two dresses ordered STILL haven't shipped so I got one off Amazon but honestly I got so many compliments on it, it was worth it.

Also Dylan was SO funny and so kind as I did my best not to cry about how watching his videos on repeat is what got me through a lot of my recurring back pain. Just so, so lovely.

Anyway now to decide what to make first from the new book!!!

I am going to meet B. Dylan Hollis on his book tour next week and I've just realized I have no clue what I'm going to wear but I need to make it good.

Panic ordered two swing dresses, here's hoping 1. they get here in time and 2. At least one of them fits. Is it cliche to meet the guy who does vintage baking in a vintage dress? Perhaps. Am I gonna do it anyways? I sure hope so.

I was incredibly ambitious with this one fam but for my first time attempting several things, I'm fairly happy.

Ombré blue velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and a secret middle filled with gummy sharks, blue raspberry lemonade Swedish fish, blue sour patch kids, and sprinkles.

It looks like I've murdered a Smurf but I promise it's cake

#definitely learned I need to add purple to the blue dye to make it more blue #since the eggs and oil make the batter a little yellow tinted #and also wish I'd had time to chill the layers as i assembled #but alas #it was rich af and the mother to be was delightfully surprised #so it's a win

Realized I never shared pictures of the pie so here we go, months late

I got impatient baking her and she got real burnt so hubby scraped the worst of it off.

Bonus: the honey mascarpone tart I also made because I thought I was the only one making dessert and decided one apple pie wasn't enough

Help me decide! Keep in mind, we are traveling the day before so it's gotta be something that can be made the night before and/or morning of.
