DC's "Blue Beetle" is somehow different!
Warning: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!
"Blue Beetle" promised a fresh take on the superhero genre within the DC universe, but upon watching it, I was taken aback by the departure from the typical dark and dramatic tone associated with DC movies. While the concept and story development were intriguing, the film leaned heavily into a family-friendly and teenage vibe, deviating from the traditional superhero essence that fans have come to expect from DC.
Unlike the somber and tragic backgrounds that often shape DC characters, "Blue Beetle" seemed to embrace a more lighthearted and Disney-esque approach. This shift towards family-oriented themes, while admirable, didn't quite capture the signature superhero impact that DC movies are known for. The film's strong emphasis on the power of familial bonds paralleled the likes of Kamen Rider, but it missed the mark in delivering a memorable superhero experience.
The story progressed smoothly, but the overall superhero aura was diluted by a focus on quotable family messages. Although the movie attempted to impart the lesson of relying on loved ones, it lacked the gripping superhero elements that usually accompany DC's storytelling. While the direction was unexpected, it's worth noting that the movie's willingness to explore a different tone might appeal to a broader audience, including teenagers and families. However, for those anticipating the traditional DC superhero experience, "Blue Beetle" may leave them longing for the darker and more intense narratives the franchise is known for.

Review on "Marry My Dead Body," — Chemistry-filled Comedy with Heart
I recently watched "Marry My Dead Body" on Netflix and it offers a refreshing take on comedy, striking a balance between humor and genuine emotion. The captivating scenes showcase the remarkable chemistry between the lead actors, even though it might not be a full-fledged boyslove movie. The film's ability to evoke emotions while keeping the comedy grounded makes it a standout choice for those seeking a unique and engaging watch.
"Marry My Dead Body" thoughtfully explores the boundaries and respect within the realm of a straight policeman's job, shedding light on the perspectives that gay individuals hold towards their straight counterparts. The film admirably highlights the ongoing need for acceptance and understanding in a world where respect for diverse genders should be a given. By depicting the unfortunate reality that some still harbor animosity towards non-straight individuals, the movie prompts viewers to reflect on the importance of tolerance and unity in our society.
For me this movie is worth watching and I hope to see more of this in the future.

Why I Decided to Stop Playing Pokémon GO - A Frustrating Journey
Introduction:
In the summer of 2016, I, like millions of others, embarked on a journey to become a Pokémon Master through the enchanting world of Pokémon GO. The excitement of catching virtual creatures in the real world was invigorating, but as time went on, a series of frustrations began to pile up, leading me to make the difficult decision to put down my Poké Balls and step away from the game. Here's why I stopped playing Pokémon GO.
1. Limited PokéStops in My Vicinity:
Living in a rather secluded area, I quickly discovered that the game's premise of exploring my surroundings was hindered by a lack of PokéStops. With fewer than five stops in my vicinity, my ability to stock up on essential items like Poké Balls and berries became an arduous task, making the gameplay experience more of a struggle than a joy.
2. The Struggle Between Work and Play:
While the initial allure of chasing Pokémon had me hooked, the demands of my job often left me with limited free time. Unfortunately, even when I managed to carve out a few moments for some Pokémon-catching fun, the number of Pokémon spawns seemed to dwindle, leaving me feeling discouraged and unfulfilled.
3. Outdoor-Centric Tasks in an Indoor World:
As the game evolved, so did its challenges. Many in-game tasks and events began requiring me to venture outdoors to complete them. While the idea of exploring new areas was appealing, the reality of this requirement clashed with my busy schedule and sometimes even with unfavorable weather conditions, leading to a sense of exclusion from certain gameplay elements.
4. Buggy Updates Taking the Magic Away:
The frequent updates that promised enhanced gameplay often had an unintended consequence – introducing bugs and lag. What was once a seamless and enjoyable experience became a frustrating battle against glitches and technical hiccups. It seemed that every new feature came with its own set of issues, diminishing the magic of the game.
5. Pay-to-Play Events and the Rising Costs:
In the beginning, Pokémon GO felt like a free adventure, but as time passed, an increasing number of paid events began to dominate the landscape. These events not only required a financial investment but also felt like they favored those who could spend more money. The constant need to convert real-world currency into in-game purchases (particularly when considering the Philippine Peso) left me feeling like the game was becoming more about spending than exploring.
Conclusion:
My decision to stop playing Pokémon GO wasn't an easy one. The game had captured my imagination and introduced me to an innovative way of blending technology with the real world. However, the combination of limited access to key elements, time constraints, outdoor-centric challenges, technical issues, and a growing emphasis on paid events ultimately led me to bid farewell to my Poké-trainer aspirations. As the sun sets on my Pokémon GO adventure, I'll always cherish the memories of the early days, but for now, it's time to close this chapter and await the next adventure that awaits.

My personal thoughts on Red, White & Royal Blue
"Red, White & Royal Blue" is a charming and captivating movie that takes audiences on a delightful journey through the complexities of love, politics, and identity. Adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name, the film successfully captures the essence of the story while adding its own unique flair.
The film introduces us to Alex Claremont-Diaz (played brilliantly by Taylor Zakhar Perez), the dynamic and charismatic First Son of the United States, and Prince Henry (portrayed with elegance by Nicholas Galitzine), the reserved and charming heir to the British throne. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and their rollercoaster romance is both heartwarming and deeply moving.
While the movie excels at portraying the blossoming romance between Alex and Henry, some fans of the book (I, for one) may find themselves missing certain pivotal scenes that didn't make it to the screen. The challenge of adapting any beloved book lies in the difficult task of selecting what to include and what to leave out, and "Red, White & Royal Blue" is no exception. However, the film's pacing and engaging storyline manage to hold the audience's attention throughout, making it an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
The production design and cinematography deserve special mention, as they transport viewers to picturesque settings ranging from the halls of power in Washington, D.C., Texas, to the historic palaces of England. The attention to detail in costume and set design further adds to the movie's authenticity and visual appeal.
One can't help but feel that "Red, White & Royal Blue" could have been even more fulfilling as a series, allowing for a deeper exploration of the characters and the world they inhabit. The film leaves viewers yearning for more glimpses into the lives of Alex, Henry, and their endearing group of friends and family.
In conclusion, "Red, White & Royal Blue" may have left out certain book scenes, but it makes up for it with its heartfelt performances, captivating storyline, and stunning visuals. It's a testament to the enduring power of love and the resilience of the human spirit, leaving audiences with a sense of hope and a smile on their faces.
You can watch Red, White & Royal Blue on Amazon Prime
