i think when we used to point out that a story didn't need a sex scene what we meant was "this story reduces its women to mere sex objects and gives them no interiority so the sex scenes are gratuitous and geared towards the male gaze" it wasn't the sex that bothered us per se it was the objectification of female characters while givig them little to no consequence to the overall story but nowadays people mean "sex is icky and gross and has no merit to ever be portrayed in our arts which should be good and pure and never ever make ME feel discomfort" and it's like. i bet a bowl of unfrosted flakes looks real good to you rn

if u ever find a genie and you’re really craving a dessert that looks like this:

do NOT say “i’d like a lifetime supply of raspberry crowns”
while this is, in fact, the name of the pastry, it’s ALSO the name of a species of wasp for some reason. the genie, being a nasty trickster, will no doubt give you a bunch of wasps.

we talk a lot about sex positive asexuals on this site but i never see much discussion about sex repulsed allosexuals. if you find people attractive yet can't enjoy sex for whatever reason, i wish you a happy comfortable life. you're not broken or missing anything. i love you.

It's not that people are incorrect when they say homeschoolers are weird, it's that they get the brand of weird wrong. Sure some of them might be "papa bade us never have mirrors in the house lest we give into the Sin of Vanity" but you're more likely to be confronted by an eleven-year-old carting around a huge collection of Norse Sagas in translation. She can spell synagogue. She plays rugby. She talks just a little bit too much like an adult in a way that is just slightly uncanny. She primarily watches TV from the '70s. She has an intimate knowledge of whisky because her parents tell her about it. She is wearing a mismatched shirt and skirt. That's the one bit people are spot on about.

Want to add something to the whole "YouTube ID protest" thing- (More info about this here if you need it)
If you're participating in refusing to use YouTube from the 13th of August until the ID policy is lifted, there is a chance you might accidentally use YouTube in one way or another.
Muscle memory, autopilot, a misclick, any number of things, please don't let that mistake cause you to give up! We are human, we make mistakes, but as long as you correct it and continue the protest it will reduce the damage and keep the viewership loss on YouTube high, increasing the chance of success! That's what matters, that we keep trying. We need to show that even if we trip and fall, we'll just get back up and keep going!
I believe in you, even if you make a mistake, I'll keep believing in you, as long as you keep trying!
We will succeed. We refuse to be tracked or censored. We deserve our privacy!
Privacy is a human right, NOT a privilege!

I consider myself a microinfluencer in the way I can get ten to fifteen people to consume a piece of media if I’m annoying enough about it
