I have to plan the final session of DnD and that is the only thing I can work on at the moment haha.

Hi, don’t worry about it at all x)

I do commonly use textured pens! Especially ones that mimic traditional pencil. That paired with lasso tool can create some interesting textures and shapes !

I prefer traditional art myself so I try to make my digital art more fun by mimicking some aspects of it x)

P.S. sometimes I want to make the art look like an oil painting so I use brushes that mimic that aswell x)

I am honestly surprised on how much people like this design! It was made for funsies but it makes me so happy to see!

SPOILERS FOR MALEVOLENT BY THE WAY!!!

Anyway on the thought process:

My design process is kind of messy so it is hard to put into words. But the main idea of this Kayne is that he looks a bit like Nyarlathotep! I realised many of designs for this outer god have similar traits - a hood like head that extends and a big mouth : D

I firstly created my version of nyarlathotep. It is a bit more on the cute side since I was too lazy to go into detail. Then combined with the little information we got of how Kayne’s looks… a design just happened!

Here is a better look into it. It is so hard to explain with words (I am not good with words).

Edit: Also my friend mentioned his face looks like a mask which totally fits!
