Honestly, pragmatic villains who are just too fucking sensible and practical to be bigoted is a fondness of mine. I mean, consider a straight-up ruthless, heinous villain whose minions, henchmen and assassins are 90% female, for no other reason than because all these other wannabe Overlords of the Universe were overlooking these perfectly good, competent professionals because of their sex, and they’re loyal as well because they know he’s the only employee who’ll actually treat them fair. What else are they gonna do, turn good?

jesus christ, be polite to children and show them manners. fucking say excuse me when you walk past them, apologize to them when you cut them off, thank them when they’re courteous to you. they’re not little objects that don’t matter. you should be a fucking example and teach them how to treat people, instead of acting like they’re these invisible THINGS that don’t have feelings or don’t notice when they aren’t acknowledged. be polite to children the same way you’d be polite to someone of your own age group or older. you can respect a child.

The conversation about public sex is one of those things that I had never thought about due to my place of privilege. I'm not naive enough to assume that "public sex" means "fucking in the middle of the street or a crowded park." But it's easy to assume that the people who do it are just exhibitionists who do it for the thrills and have private residences to have sex in when they want to. It didn't even cross my mind that homeless people and people who don't have access to safe private spaces are basically not legally allowed to be sexual on top of everything else that they have to contend with. Of course they were part of anti sodomy laws as well, especially since queer people are more likely to face poverty and other hardships. And really I should have known better because public sex is so intrinsically tied to sex work. And yes, people are gonna do it to be kinky, too, but going after them does splash damage onto people that otherwise progressive people want to protect. (Which is par for the course when it comes to trying to legislate away kink.)
