Aside from being an entertainment platform, social media has been a great medium nowadays to disseminate a lot of information and also become a stage to spread awareness and a lot of news.

This year has been tough for all of us. A lot of trials challenged our well-being. And just recently, our country have been hit by typhoons. A lot of our fellow Filipinos need assistance financially, emotionally and more. And I saw how people expressed their concern and extends their help by sharing information about the victims of the said calamity through social media's. Which is one of the bright angle to see in using this kind of platforms. If we will compare this to traditional media like newspaper, old televisions and radios, spreading news at a very fast pace is one of the visible advantage of the modern media. It will take a lot of days to produce well written articles and the whole newspaper itself. But with the use of Twitter and Facebook for instance, just a few types and clicks, you can already share to the world what has been happening. Also, the use of smartphones have become one of the medium of the recent calamity's victims to alarm their fat living relatives the recent situation they are in. Unlike old televisions and radios, which is a lot more heavier and unconventional to bring anywhere, cellphone is really a better option.

I would totally disagree to someone who will say that social media is nothing but a waste of time and just a distraction. All year round, I have became aware of what my country has been going through because of social media. Just always take note of the misleading informations and other disadvantages social media still has. But as long as you use this medium in a good and with pure intention, despite of the kind of media you are comfortable with, the aim and goal will always still matter.

DISADVANTAGES OF ICT

For the past years, technology over the world have grown which is actually a very astonishing change we all have witnessed. It made everyone's life convenient and comfortable. However, everything is three dimensional and has a lot of things to see from a different point of view. Likewise can be said to ICT.

As we wake up everyday, we are already welcomed by technology as we open our smart TV's or scroll through our smartphones for news. As it is just a piece of cake to use so many platforms today to spread news, we could be misleaded if we are not information literate. There could be millions of fake new circulating all over the internet and being not smart enough to see or notice all the information given, it could be drastic.

Today's technology is very powerful. We can all recall the famous phrase, "With great power comes great responsibility", whatever we post and put on our technology platforms, could put us in danger. A lot of identity, photos, informations are fetched online and yours could also be at risk. We could be at the edge of many cybercrimes. To cut it short, let us all be safe and careful.

Social media's are also one of the top platforms of today's generation to do basically any thing. Let's say for instance the influencers we know today have so much audiences and the way they use their platforms should be a responsibility over their shoulders. With that being said, as we have all our platforms, be it having few or many audience, we still need to responsible of how we use our media.

Why not just use this technology for the betterment of all of us. Spread awareness or educational content. Let this be a medium of entertainment without shaming and bullying other people online. Spread positivity and have a sense responsibility in what we do.

Indeed, today's technology is amazing but let us not be blinded by its dark side. Let us all be safe and be responsible.

Module 13

The Theatre

The Solaire's The Theatre is one of the most prestigious stages. The Theatre gives you the best theatre plays, concerts, and Broadway shows that you will probably would not want to miss. The Theatre holds a 1,740 seats in a grand auditorium equipped with the audio system to give audience the richest experience.

The stage structure is most likely an End Stage. The audience are all in front and the front stage is extended behind serving as the backstage for the performers.

The said theatre stage is also the home of the best and globally famous Broadway shows like Les Meserables, The Sound of Music, The Lion King and more. A lot of comedy acts and live shows performed by big names both here and abroad, were witnessed here. Making the Solaire's The Theatre garner a reputation of world class entertainment for all.

Official merchandise of the shows were also sold in Theatre Shoppe so that the audience can bring home souvenirs.

Module 8

Own Story –

Whenever It Rains

written by yours truly.

I parted my lips as I approached my cup near to sip from my coffee. The aroma of a newly brewed coffee brought me relaxation as I watched in the window pane how the sky is pouring out its cry.

I sighed heavyly as I stepped out of the café.

The rain has already stopped. I walked down the few stairs and found myself walking along the pavements. The recent occurrence of the heaven's cry was evident. The streets are all wet and I always have to move from side to side to avoid the water dropping from the leaves of the trees.

I accidentally bumped onto someone. Embarrassing.

"Oh my god! I'm so–".

I wasn't able to finish my sentence. Everything's unexpected. A pair of eyes is now looking at me as if it is reading through my soul. Those hazelnut brown, monolid eyes. Those thick brows. Those eyes mirrored my reflection right now–

"This is sweet. Try this, " he then approached a spoonful of his vanilla ice cream to me.

I nodded, "Hmm. That's delicious. I should have ordered the same," we laughed it off and stayed at the ice cream parlor for a while.

We have been laughing for a while now, "You and your dad jokes!" I said, still wasn't able to get over his corny joke. "It was still funny. I can even see how wide your laugh was," he countered.

I just made a face before taking out my mobile phone so we could take a photo.

The sky must be celebrating with us. Even the sky felt so much joy that it brought tears. "Come on, Joy, it's already raining." He guided me to come down from the hood of his car.

He was about to open the door but I stopped him. His eyes was enough to speak for his confusion, "Why don't we just enjoy the night? The clouds are in tears of joy. Let's just dance the night away."

The rain poured harder. I enjoyed every raindrop touching my skin. I don't care if the rain puts my lipstick away. I love how the breeze smells like.

"Love, please how can you say that? It's hurting me. All this time, you mean everything to me. You complete me yet I was just ruining you?"

"Yes. Let's just end things up–", he suddenly hugged me. "No, please, I can't lose you. You mean the world to me," he begged. I pushed him away. "Well, to me, you're not. Grow up, Jae! We don't own the world. The world don't just revolve around us. Think about your mom! We have all the time after this, but if you keep on ignoring yourself, your career, your family, it's better to just end things up." I shouted.

"Oh my god! I'm so–". I wasn't able to talk. It has been a long time. I miss her. I will never forget her perfect brows, almond shaped eyes, those red plump lips, and her milky white complexion.

Both of us seemed frozen. It has been years since I last saw her angelic features. She became more beautiful, what a woman she is now.

She must be feeling weak, she almost collapsed but I held her arms.

I removed my earphones, "It has been a long time." She looked so shocked, yet still beautiful.

"How can you still look beautiful like this?"

BLOG #1: TODAY'S E-TECH WAS...

Today's E-TECH was new. Just, this week, we have been reblocked and was grouped into just 2 blocks. There were many adjustment. Some of my classmates were new to me and our instructor also was. Despite of this, I had a good first impression of them. My classmates were not snob and they participate well. I actually liked what they have said in our introduction earlier, "let's help each other and we will going to make it." For me, I see it as a good sign of camaraderie. Our instructor, Ma'am Sanchez is also approachable and I actually like her voice– soft and sweet. I don't see her intimidating which is for someone who's anxious lately like me, it's good to know that we have a structure whom we can talk to without hesitation or being frightened.

Today's E-TECH was full of learning. After the individual introduction, I had finally calmed myself. My nervousness was gone. We have discussed our adjustments for this new normal. I know we are all adjusting but right now, being used to it, I think, will be a long process. I was also hesitant about this type of learning because I find this quite hard subject and I am just really hoping that I'll be able to catch up. But just like what we have mentioned in my introduction, we believe our instructor and we will help each other as much as possible.

After that, we have continued with our discussion with the introduction of our subject. There are actually many terms to know and understand. Even if it's just about introduction, I have seen how technology can be so helpful for everyone and how it applies to different career paths.

Overall, today's E-TECH was a good experience. I am looking forward to have fun while learning too.

Samgyupsal Experience @ Yakiniku

February 8, 2020, about 4:30 pm when we arrived at Yakiniku to do a video recording or simply vlog which is focused on a food review! Yakiniku is located at Waterfront Rd. at Sbma in front of Pier One. This restaurant offers both Korean and Japanese cuisines.

For its location, it is quite far if you decide to walk from the 1st gate of SBMA (just like what we did) but if you're driving, it will be less hassle for you. It is also near beach side so it is really a good stop after eating. Wherein you can relax and enjoy the cold breeze of the beach. Perfect for a simple night out with friends or lovers!

For the ambiance of the place, it is relaxing, I must say. The interior is just simple but I u don't think it was a hindrance. It just made me feel at home which is great for me. Also, they have a good music playlist! I heard some of my favorite songs which made me enjoyed my food even more! The whole ambiance was like, I was just at home, enjoying my unlimited food!

And for the food itself, it was amazing! First, it is unlimited. From the pork, to the side dishes and drinks, it's all unlimited! Fun, isn't it? What we have ordered was superb! It was all delicious! But I just don't like the smell of the egg. It is not appealing and appetizing at all. But from the way it taste, it's just an ordinary egg. I don't know why its smell turned out like that. Well, that's the only one which made me turned off a bit.

Price wise, it's affordable! If you're planning to go and eat here at Yakiniku with your friends, I'm sure you'll be full so much! This is so sulit! For unlimited pork samgyupsal, it is 350 pesos per head, 450 for beef samgyupsal and 400 for mix! They also have different Ala Carte meals for both Korean and Japanese cuisines which is also affordable compared to other restaurants. If you want to have some drink while enjoying their samgyupsal, you can! They offer soju (korean alcohol) and other alcoholic beverages. Really a nice place to visit to have some quality time with your friends!

And of course, let me mention their staffs and admins which are very nice and approachable! The owner is also hands on with his costumers and with the place. Their staffs are also busy to keep the place clean from the flies! Meaning they really value sanity.

So all in all, I recommend you to visit the Yakiniku! Affordable and worth it restaurant around Subic!
