Campylocentrum organense is a cool growing epiphyte from southeastern Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Paraná) at elevations over 1000 metres. Reichenbach published this species in 1864 based on a specimen collected by Miers in the Organ Mountains in Rio de Janeiro thus the common name, The Organ Mountain Campylocentrum.
