Solid Waste Management has become a major environmental issue in India. There has been a significant increase of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generation in the country in the last few decades.

Urban India generates about 1000000MT of MSW per day and it requires more than 1500 acres of land per year for landfill. This is largely because of rapid population growth and economic development in the country.

This calls for sincere efforts not only from the civic administration but also from the individuals. Therefore, as a corporate social responsibility, UID has come up with this green initiative with the objective of this to create awareness regarding the importance of our environment and how we can save it by changing our outlook and become the change agent.
