10 Reasons Im Thankful This Thanksgiving

1: My wonderful and perfect fiancee who i love more than anything. Its amazing to be a part of a real family and I thank the heavens everyday he is all mine

2: My darling daughter Merrit. She might not be mine biologically but I have been there since the beginning and its been an amazing journey to watch her grow and become the funniest sweetest little girl.

3: My father John. He has always been in my corner growing up and has been the best father a girl could ask for. I truly got lucky with having him as a dad

4: Lacey for being my best friend through rough times and good times. We have had our ups and downs but i wouldn't trade her for the world and so thankful to have a second chance with her

5: My wonderful cousin Isabella for being the sister I never had. For always being the one I can go to for anything and never judging me.

6: My music career. I am so thankful I get to work with fantastic artists and create magic with what we create

7: My health. I have worked hard on my physical and mental health for years now and I am finally in a place where I am truly happy internally and externally

8: My brother Charlie. He passed about 10 years ago but I am thankful he is my guardian angel and I can talk to him whenever I want

9: Seattle. The move here in the middle of my high school career was the best decision my dad ever made for me. Here I found a home with wonderful friends and family.

10: My mother. Even though we are estranged I am thankful for her giving me life.

Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallow

YIELDS: 8 serving(s)PREP TIME: 20 minsTOTAL TIME: 1 hr 50 mins

Ingredients

4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for baking dish 

4 lb. sweet potatoes

2 tbsp. dark brown sugar

1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg

1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

3 large eggs plus 4 large egg whites

1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract, divided

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

2/3 c. granulated sugar

1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions

Step 1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter a 3-quart broiler-safe baking dish. Roast sweet potatoes on a baking sheet until tender, 60 to 70 minutes. Cut a slit in the top to release steam and let cool for 15 minutes.

Step 2 Scoop out sweet potato flesh (discard skins). Transfer to a food processor and process until completely smooth, 30 seconds. Add butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, whole eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pulse until fully incorporated, 3 to 4 times. Season with salt and black pepper; transfer to the prepared dish.

Step 3 Bake until sweet potatoes are set, 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4 Whisk together egg whites, granulated sugar, and cream of tartar in a bowl. Set the bowl over (but not in) a saucepan of simmering water and cook, whisking constantly, until sugar is dissolved and whites are very warm to the touch, 3 to 4 minutes; remove from heat. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed, gradually increasing speed to high, until glossy and soft peaks form, 4 to 6 minutes. Beat in the remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

Step 5 Heat the broiler with the rack in the middle position. Spoon meringue over cooled sweet potatoes. Broil until meringue is browned, 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Fall Bucket List

Haunted Attractions This is one of Eden’s favorite things to do for the season. She loves going with a group of friends or with Tristan and Troy and seeing how scared everyone can get.

Pumpkin|Apple Picking Eden wants to go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard and pick pumpkins and apples. She takes the pumpkins to carve them or paint them as well as the apples she collects to make pies.

Drive Around to see the Foliage Eden loves getting everyone in the car and just driving around to see the color of the leaves change. It's so peaceful and the kiddos really enjoy the views

Watch Scary Movies Halloween means scary movies, Eden's favorite genre. She will make all kinds of snacks and bundle up under the covers to watch her favorite scary movies alone or with the family. 

Go Trick or Treating Eden loves getting dressed up and taking Merrit and Troy out for trick-or-treating. Sometimes she will put on a mask and pretend to be a kid so she can score her own supply of candy.

Fall Photoshoot Eden is now engaged so she wants to take engagement photos with Tristan and the kids. With fall being her favorite season it was only natural she would want her photos to be fall-themed

Halloween Party This year Eden wants to go to a Halloween Party with her fiancee. She loves getting dressed up and letting loose.

It is no shock for this test that Eden had Physical Tough as her top love language. Growing up, Eden was not loved physically unless it came from her father and brother. All her life she ever wanted was for her mother to be affectionate with her or to show any kindness toward her physically. Opening herself up to people was hard for her so when she truly cared for people, she would use touch to back up her words of affirmation to anyone that came into her life. Her motto is “actions speak louder than words.” so she makes it a priority to show her love through touch. People showing her love through touch is something she absolutely needs in a relationship. She needs her significant other to be affectionate and to show her how much she means to them. It could be a kiss, a hug, a massage, or just a cuddle makes her feel safe and that she can trust people Words of Affirmation comes into second due to her childhood as well. Growing up, her mother was someone who never gave her a kind word. Her mother constantly used words to hurt Eden. In school she was always someone who sought out praise to prove that she was doing a good job or that she mattered. She dressed how people expected her to, be what they wanted her to be. She would constantly chip away at who she really was to play the part of whatever role someone needed her to be. Though she is more comfortable in her own skin, she still finds herself seeking out those words of praise and validation from her significant other. When someone tells her that she is amazing, pretty, smart etc, it makes her feel those things or gives her solid validation that those words are true. 

Third is Quality time. Eden is one to always want to be around the person she loves and vice versa. In any relationship, she loves spending time with those she considers her loved ones. If it is watching a movie, going to the mall, or even staying home to watch tv on the couch makes her happy because she is with the one she loves. To someone she dates, she always plans little dates so she and whomever she is with can just be together and make memories.
